The vegetable served in the set dinner was very fresh. Unfortunately the sashimi and sushi tasted quite bland.

We had a very nice big room with our own onsen bath. The hotel was sparkling clean and well maintained.

The Onsen was small relatively speaking, comparing to other hotels in the area.

We asked for western style beds and we got it, in all three rooms. Meals were good. The waiter serving our meals was really good, patient polite and helpful.

The only thing we might have liked were a few more amenities which we had experienced elsewhere like welcome treats and light snacks in lobby or rest area.

Top service and attention. Really was a unique dining experience and the chef made a lot of effort to accommodate our dietary preferences. We had private dining breakfast and dinner. The onsen was nice but the private onsen in our room was the most memorable. Room was very large.

Our stay was in early December and I can’t thank their staff enough. They were so friendly and nice, helped us to get the taxi and being extremely helpful for everything. We are so touched by the services. The room and everything were nice. There was a private Onsen you can use for free once during the stay. The breakfast was good too with Aso milk. We really enjoyed the stay and will definitely recommend this!

water that came out from the room sink was cold. when we arrived at the ryokan to check in, most of the slots for the private onsens were taken up already, so it's advisable to reach earlier to check in.

food for both dinner and breakfast were great. the hotel also checked in with us beforehand if we eat horse meat, and it can be switched to other types of meat (e.g. beef) if one does not consume horse meat. room was a good size and comfy, there was a toilet and shower in the room. there are 2 private onsens available for use, can book the timeslot you want when you check in, one room was only entitled to reserve one timeslot per night's stay, each timeslot is 45min.

A bit too expensive for the experience, you can easily find a nicer Ryokan nearby for a similar price.

Nice modern-style ryokan with decent onsen baths. A bit old sometimes despite the fact it was recently refurbished. Very very nice rooftop bar, rare in Japan.

The hot bath facilities are quite old. No bathroom in rooms.

We booked two rooms without knowing that they don’t have a shower in the room. We have to use the public bathroom for showers. Anyhow the public and private (booking) bath( onsen) don’t open 24 hours They close for cleaning from 10-13.00 and at that time you can’t shower. So make sure you look throughly what type of the room before you book this hotel. But for tue other things were good.

The property is very old. Squeaky doors and floors. Electricity wasn’t stable and AC wasn’t very cold enough for the hot summer.

Really enjoyed the meal. Food was good. Service was good.

House bars didn't open til 9pm No cold bath in the men's bath. Takeaway breakfast for early checkout was simple from 7-11 shop..

Nice wooden decor inside. Classic ryokan with tutami mats but with twin beds. Onsen baths were nice. Attentive, earnest staff. Quiet Nice shops in area
