Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNot applicable. It was ideal for our needs.
Location was perfect for our planned trip out to the Yamaha Factory. Right next to the station, small but comfortable room, handy breakfast in hotel but surrounded by outlets if you wanted to eat out. Very helpful staff too.

JapanI thought I was going to have another "zairyuu card" issue, but I was able to side-step it. There are check-in machines, but the front desk lady beckoned me over and asked for my passport. I said in Japanese, "I don't carry my passport." She then asked for my zairyuu card, which they're NOT supposed to do. A hotel in Kyoto is currently being sued for demanding to see the card from a guest, so I was surprised other hotels haven't caught on. Anyway, I was clearly annoyed by her question, and said rather curtly in Japanese, "I'm not a tourist." After that, she backed off and told me to go to the machine and check in. Not the friendliest hotel staff I've met.
The location is excellent--just on the right side after exiting the station. There are a ton of restaurants and shops nearby. I upgraded to a corner room, which was nice. The bed was big and comfortable, and the room was clean. I'll stay here again if I'm in Hamamatsu.

AustraliaNothing, it was all good. The room is slightly smaller than others we’ve stayed in and your view might be a brick wall but it’s just a bed for a night and it was very comfortable.
It’s literally 50 metres from the train station but very quiet unless you have the window open and you’ll hear the occasional whoosh of a train passing. The room was very clean and the bathroom was spotless. The TV has movies for free so I watched Fast n Furious 10 and Cocaine Bear. The staff were fantastic and breakfast was very filling and high standard. There was an offer of free rice and curry for dinner but we had dinner at a place directly across from the hotel which had baked potatoes, calamari, and some of the best food we’ve enjoyed during our 6 weeks in Japan. I’d stay here a second night just to go back to that restaurant again!

MalaysiaThe arrangement of the room is a little awkward. The window, if opened, will be susceptible to traffic noise in the very early morning. But once shut, the acoustic seal works wonder.
It's towards the south of the station so definitely some short walk towards the main spot on the north side. The lobby is at the highest floor so do take note. The staffs at the lobby and the breakfast lounge are really polite and helpful. There are few nice dining spot around.

JapanVery close to the station Eco cleaning services which means the staff won’t enter the room unless on designated cleaning days!! But the good thing is even though no cleaning, they provide towels n other amenities daily (hang on the door) so don’t hav to call the lobby every time… breakfast choices were quite decent n tasty.

United StatesIt would have been nice to have a luggage rack to place bags.
Super convenient stay. This was a pass-through location for us and we were hoping to see one or two things in town, but we ended up doing laundry instead. This was the perfect place to catch up and refresh. The breakfast buffet, vending machines, laundry machines, and money exchange in the hotel were so nice to have. While the accommodations weren't anything special, it was nice to have all the basics at hand. The view out the window was nice too- close enough to see the train station hustle and city activity. Food was also easy to find around the hotel. There are a lot of gyoza places too!

United KingdomI’m not quite sure how the property got 4stars. although the service is good and they do clean the place thoroughly it is definitely dated and quite shabby. I would have thought this was a nice 3star hotel. not quite the luxury you expect from 4stars
The property has everything you need and right next to the station. They clean the rooms every day, give fresh towels, pj’s and slippers provided. Coin laundry, ice machine & vending machines all on site. Free curry available on the evening was really tasty.

CanadaThe room was a bit small, but the bed was comfy and the room was very clean! I liked how there was coin laundry available, the machine washed and dried in the same machine and you could enter a passcode to keep your laundry safe. However, there was only a few laundry machines.
I chosen Hotel Sorriso, because it is located close to Hamamatsu Station. I was in Hamamatsu to visit a friend. The staff spoke decent English and were very welcoming! There was a buffet style curry dinner and breakfast in the hotel's dining area, both of which were very delicious, I was surprised by the quality of the food and how well it was presented! There is plenty of shopping and dining nearby.
