Room bathroom facility needs renovation. Dated. Does not match rest of hotel

We had a car and didn't find parking in the parking lot in front of the hotel. The hotel staff didn't tell us about the parking lots behind the hotel. We parked in a paid parking - and the staff did ask us to check if there is a 24 hr maximum charge (which we did). The restaurant was super busy at b'fast so we didn't end up having it there...

The location as advertised was opposite the canal. Very convenient with a couple of museums near by as well. We had booked a canal facing room and were able to get side by side rooms with our children. The room itself was quite spacious.

There was no parking space that day but it could be because of the festival .

It’s very central , the canal is right in front and as it was Usio festival , we could see the fireworks clearly from our balcony !

Parking was a challenge but it turn to be a blessing as we got cheaper parking.

Size of the room was small. Bathroom was also very small - I got a big surprise at first! Felt like the bathroom of a cruise ship!

The advantage of this hotel is its location. From my room, I can look down into the canal - great view and oh so relaxing. Of course, it's close to the impt shopping areas. Would be great if coffee was provided in the room, if we didn't have to help ourselves to it from the lobby.

The bathroom a decent size, but needs to be updated. The room furniture was old with many scratches and not closing properly.

The bathroom was very cramped, climate control could not be adjusted so the room was stuffy. The air was too dry even though we turned on the provided humidifier.

Walking distance to all the attractions and to excellent food. Centrally located.

AC cannot be set to heat or cool by guest, it was May but rather warm so we had to settle for heating mode or just air circulation. We slept with window open and let AC circulate the air.

Hotel used antique or antique looking American wood furniture. Some are quite worn n the coffee table actually felt greasy on its top.

I stayed on 9th floor, there seemed to be some cleaning happening when I arrived and I smelled something dead or rotten. The unpleasant smell did not linger through to my room but it stayed outside my room. As soon as I stepped out of the door going to the lift, the smell was quite pungent and disturbing.

I liked the location, hotel's interiors look relatively modern and the supplies (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotions, are of high quality.

The first staff we met were not quite friendly to us. I think they may feel a little bit bored of the tourists. The parking lot is not free, it costs 1,200 JPY per night. I think the hotel should be more genorous for their guests about this.

The hotel is well decorated. The aminities in the room are sufficient for our stay. The hotel is well located in the famous spot of Otaru town. It takes around 10 - 15 minutes walk to the train station. There are a lot of shops, restaurants and etc. nearby.

The furniture is kind of old, and the room is a bit narrow. The room doesn't have enough space for 2 pieces of luggage.

The location is good, the room is great, and we can view the canal.

Stayed for the Otaru Canal Light up with room facing canal. Lovely hotel and breakfast and facilities. Only annoyance was being phoned in our room to hurry and check out right on 11am, we were ready but have never experienced this push to get out of a hotel before. Would stay again though.

Nothing much.

Good location, situated opposite the otaru canal. Sakaimachi street is within walking distance. Family Mart and restaurant nearby, very convenient. Beds are comfortable, in house onsen. Breakfast was great.
