How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It was not as clean as expected according to Japanese standards, and there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke, even though the room was designated for non-smokers.
Great location, very close to the shopping area and just above the underground mall. Metro station access is just outside the entrance.

Superb location. Just above Tenjin underground mall. Look out for the sign underground for the West side exit and going to Solaire mall. Exiting from the Central Gate of Tenjin, walk straight and keep to the right side. You will walk past Parco, etc and there will be a lift to bring you up to street level at one of the exit AFTER a few mins walk after you see Parco. Rooms are well maintained and spacious for us a family of 4. Overall a very comfortable stay for us. The hotel lobby check in is at 5th/6th floor (cant remember) of the mall. Plenty of eatries in the mall itself or nearby malls. Within walking distance to konibinis, MacDonalds & KFC (if you really need) and BIC

The wifi provided was not stable. And also the mirror casting of smart devices was so bad that we gave up using the television. The lighting our room was not bright enough.
Good location!!! Although everyday remains similar foods, the breakfast is very delicious. The bed was very comfortable, the staffs were very kind and helping, always with big smiles on their face.

Encountered power outage requiring relocation of our stay. It was disruptive to our itinerary, nonetheless the staffs did their best throughout the entire ordeal with service recovery.
Conveniently located. Clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend and will return for future stay.

The room could have been bigger, but it's pretty standard for a hotel in Japan. Otherwise, it was a nice, comfortable stay.

Excellent location! Its in the middle of everything around Tenjin- shopping, bus terminal, subway, restaurants. The room also comfortably fit our family of three. The rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful!

Everything was great. The hotel doesn't have a coin laundry but that doesn't matter. The place is in a great location. We loved our room. It was beautifully designed. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Highly recommend the Solaria Nishitetsu Fukuoka. We would definitely stay here again.

No English TV channels like BBC or CNN . Even NHK world would have been good . All channels were Japanese only .

Smoking rooms and non smoking rooms on the same floor… once step off the elevator, you can smell the cigarette odor right away… I was lucky to have room further away so there were no problem

Our first room had a noticeable cigarette smell, which we were told was due to its proximity to the smoking rooms near the lifts. The staff were responsive and moved us to another room farther from the lifts, which resolved the cigarette smell, but unfortunately, there was a strong sewer/toilet odor. We mentioned this at check-out, and when we returned a few days later, the staff kindly accommodated us with a room on a higher floor, far from the lifts, and without any unpleasant smells. We appreciated their willingness to address our concerns and make our stay more comfortable.
We really appreciated the size of the room and the spacious bathroom. The location was incredibly convenient—very central and within walking distance to Tenjin Station, which made getting around easy. The staff were polite, friendly, and always willing to help. Overall, it was a good experience, even with a few hiccups along the way. We’d definitely recommend staying here.

Personally , I like less the location within a shopping mall on the 6th floor.
A beautiful, spacious and well designed room.Very clean and comfortable. Shu at the reception was very kind to escort us to the taxi downstairs and help with the luggage. Great service.
