Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceBedroom was small, the air conditionner didn't work, the door to lock the room was clonky and came with some noise-canceling pads that didn't work at all, so be prepared to hear the green light from outside beeping, the railway stop beep, and other shenanigans (atleast from the dormitory section of the guest house)
The dormitory was spacious, equiped with a personal locker, big enough to leave lugages in. Bathroom and shower room were nicely cleaned and the building is not even 5 minutes from Fujinomiya station, temples and the museum ! A really nice solution for cheap stay in the city.

FranceAll good. Except the big bed in the big room = not confortable because you felt very much the mattress’s springs. I was tired so I slept quickly but when I woke up in the middle of the night my arms and back where hurting from laying down on the springs.
The size of the room and the possibility to make small food and heat up prepared meals.

United KingdomThere’s air con in the pod but it isn’t very strong and can get pretty warm.
Staff were lovely and welcoming. The design of the place is sleek and clean, bathroom is great! Big lockers for stuff and the pods themselves were cool design, I like the lighting and sound element.

GermanyThe lights and sounds etc. in the pods are controlled via mobile phone....that wasn't working with mine, so I basically wasn't able to use the features. When I told the staff they offered me to check if its working in another pod but it wasn't. However there is a little light controlled by a switch so it's not a big problem, but something to be aware of.
We had a great talk with one of the people working there and watched a movie together on Friday (weekly movie night) which was great :)) Nice atmosphere and futuristic concept. The beeping sound of the traffic lights some people commented on didn't bother us during the night, I actually think they are turned off at some point and turned on again in the morning.

JapanShower and toilet were next to the capsules so could be heard from the capsule. Be wary of the capsule light alarm- mine didn’t work but thankfully I’d set a phone alarm as backup!
Tiiiiiiny little hostel right next to Fujinomiya station. The capsules had a bit of a handmade feel to them (plywood ahoy for those eco vibes) but had soundproofing foam inside and you could control the lighting using your phone, which was fun. Staff - super lovely, really helpful.

JapanControlling everything by qr code was an interesting experience, but seems a bit harsh if you only have slow and old phone. Although I had no troubles there.
New hotel with very modern facilities. Clean rooms and staff was very friendly. The location is also amazing as it is close to the station and 5min walking distance from big mall and a beautifull shrine.

United KingdomThere were no chairs, sofa or even a cushion to sit on in the apartment. Although the wet room/shower room was quite large, there was no wash basin and we had to use the small kitchen sink to wash our hands, teeth etc. The kitchen utensils were stored very high up and even the stool was too small for me to comfortably reach the utensils. A few spoons, knife & cups would have been handy.
easy access to the train station & busses. Zen like bedroom with lots of wood, stones & soft lighting - pleasant to sleep in. Had both washing machine & drying machine for clothes.

JapanAlthough I has previously messages saying we were arriving by car, I was surprised to learn that there is a Y1000 per night cost to use the hotels car space. It is not expensive, but it would be good to know before hand. Self check in. Although, there is someone at reception, you have to do the check in by scanning a QR code. And check out was the same. How can you give honest check out review information when someone is watching you fill out the information? Although the futons were comfortable, the 4 futons provided did not fit the space! We asked for help in setting up, but there was no was to configure the beds so that 4 fit! In the end we overlapped the mattresses and just accepted that there were going to be giant bumps between us! The double bed room does not have a heater... so my parents were very cold. They didn't want to disturb us, so we didn't know! We were offered a heater the second night, but by this time we had left the door open and warmed it with the main air-conditioner. The hotel was very helpful in sorting out a better sleeping solution for our second night.
The convenience of staying in Fujinomiya with a family of 7 at a reasonable cost. The family room had a private shower and toilet and a small kitchen. There was also a washing machine we could use if necessary. I had booked the family room for 6 people and a capsule for one of my teenagers. The man at reception was very nice and helpful. Although, he did have to keep checking with his boss about our requests. He did his best to accommodate us. The futons were comfortable and my son reported that the capsule was a fun experience and relaxing. You use a phone app to control the lights and temperature in the capsule. The hotel is clean and has a modern feel. If you have hip or ankle issues, the stairs are very steep to get to the third floor where the family room is located. Sadly a big building blocks the view of mount Fuji... but we were not expecting a view.
