All is perfect, we are planning to come back in autumn and winter.

The location is fantastic, just 5 minutes walk from Echigo-Yuzawa shinkansen train station and 5 min walk to Yuzawa Kogen cable car station, where one gets fabulous mountain views at the top. Once you step inside, it is a haven of peaceful relaxation with superb indoor and outdoor onsens. The lounge is a great chill-out area with a fireplace for the winter, and serves complimentary hot drinks in the morning plus sake and sparkling wine in the evening. The staff are so warm and they really made us feel like this place is our home away from home. Several restaurants just outside, plenty of food options. Next time we will try their in-house kaiseki that features local produce.

It's my second time staying here and I can feel that the onsen bath indoor one, the temperature was too hot for me. But the outdoor one, because of the coldness outside, it was lovely.

The extra living room space can feel a little creepy at night.

It was clean. Very cozy and quiet. Onsen was great. And the service staff could speak good English. They helped to bring our luggages into the rooms for us too. 10 min walk to restaurants and Yuzawa Kogen to play snow or ski.

Lack of convenient power points. The carpet and walls could use some upgrades as old stains were very visible. Slippers were uncomfortable for people that don't have small or narrow feet.

Staff was great and warm, and spoke english well enough. Love the big japanese style room and yukatas provided. Futons were comfy and the small treats given were nice.The gardens were lovely.

The bed was a little hard

The Onsen was on site and very nice with outside private garden setting and 1 indoor pool. The rooms were very spacious with a nice small dining table and tea service. Great location next to train station.

Great hospitality from the staff, always going the extra mile, my family and I had a great time. This establishment is family oriented, has great onsen and bathing facilities, everything you need for a ryokan experience. The room is traditional ( and may be slightly dated), but very well maintained and exceptionally clean.

Meal plan had to book at least one day in advance (if still available), since the restaurant is small, we were too late to book anything.

The room was very spacious. The futon bedding was so comfortable, had really good night of sleep. Was raining on the day of check out, got a free lift to the station.

There was really nothing I didn’t like, except I did not get a chance to order the meals, I would like to stay again and try the food as I’m sure it will be just as amazing as everything else I experienced during my stay.

From the second we walking through the door we were greeted and made to feel very comfortable. The welcome matcha tea and sweets upon arrival was a pleasant surprise. All the staff were very friendly, offered great information for sights in the area, and made us feel at home. It was such a pleasant stay. The onsen baths were also very relaxing with a beautiful and spacious outdoor bath. Everything through the hotel was clean and decorated with great sense.

Not sure why you have to give your car keys over every single time you come and go, I understand the shoes but the car keys is excessive

The staff seemed a little cold which was surprising given the glowing reviews and it was a let down, maybe they were just over the busy season? It was subtle but some of the staff came across as impersonal and some guests appeared to receive different treatment. For example some guests were offered slippers when taking off their ski boots by staff in front of me taking my boots off and when I wasn't offered any slippers. Given the proximity to a number of ski slopes staff could offer information about where to catch buses or other resort information to guests that are clearly skiing - I just went to the visitor information centre for this info. because the front desk didn't seem that approachable or interested.

The location is excellent, only a short walk from the main train station. The resort offers a shuttle bus to pick you up from the station. The rooms are really spacious and well designed. The outdoor onsen was excellent. Other than the comment below the staff were efficient and there were many at hand.

That’s a little issue about communication in English but most staffs are helpful and trying to help their customers a lot. Great recommend to make a ski program with co partner benri too

It’s a bit difficult to book dinner meal there so next time I will not miss it .
