Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere are free rental bikes available, but be careful—one of them has brakes that don’t work! Overall, it was uncomfortable to ride on, at least for me. It’s a bit far from many places if you don’t have a car, but I’m sure there are ways to get around. Also, this is a guest issue, but I woke up in the middle of the night because I think a male guest was throwing up in the bathroom, possibly from excessive drinking, which was a bit unpleasant. Please be mindful of other guests and your alcohol intake—just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want.
This place is very cute, clean, and has a great vibe. The female dormitory was really comfortable. Yuki-san, the owner, is so sweet and gave me lots of great suggestions for things to do around Sesoko. The café down the street served the best açaí bowl I’ve had on this Asia trip. I was only here for one night, but I’d love to come back in the future!

GermanyOnly thay I had to leave before the sunny season started :(
Everything! I had the luck to be there to celebrate my birthday during one of the evening get-together parties in the living room. The accommodation is very comfortable, with the proper heating/AC needed for the changing weather at the island, the futons were comfy, and the blankets really cozy. The bathroom and shower were super clean and functional, with a clean towel for every night at the stay and elegantly decorated. The common area, living room with kitchen, is fully equipped, with comfortable decoration, and the most beautiful view to the sea. The location is great as well, as there is a beach close by and a delicious café near the hotel. I can only recommend this place wholeheartedly. The hosts are really friendly, easy going and will help in case of any questions.

ChinaSound proof is an issue if you are a light sleeper - but they do provide free earplugs. Locker is tiny so if you are digital nomad you need to attend to your belongings even though it's very safe on the island.
Lovely space design, the rooftop is great too. Facilities are excellent and new. Host is very friendly and the organised cooking sharing is a great opportunity for socialising - although it also means a fight for the stove and pans.

BelgiumA small but cosy homestay that had everything I needed and more. While the location is a bit remote, you can find most you need close by including great snorkling spots. I got to use a free bycicle and gear which made it all very easy! Yuki and her family were always nice and helpful and organised a nice potluck with the other guests and a local family, which was a delight. My bed was a bit squeeky but I slept well. I ended up extending for 2 more night and left completely relaxed.

United StatesThis place is truly a hidden gem. It was my second time staying here—the first time as a solo traveler, and the second with my partner. The hosts at Sesoko Blue went to great lengths to create an atmosphere that is welcome to all travelers. You will find peace, comfort and a space to build lasting relationships. It is more than just a resort, it is a home away from home.

FranceSesoko Blue is the best guest house I have ever stayed in. It’s located in the South part of Sesoko Island, which is pretty remote and an absolutely stunning place. The hosts are exceptional, making sure you have a great time, allowing you to borrow bicycles or snorkelling gear, and organising a collective dinner with all the guests. Staying a few nights at Sesoko Blue is an absolute must do in Okinawa.

GermanyNothing. I ended up staying 3 nights longer than planned.
The owners are the kindest and funny people I have met on my Japanese trip so far. We shared our food, our drinks and many stories with each other, even though my Japanese is quite basic. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped, the beds are typically Japnese but still comfy.

Germanythe bed is too short (I am 168cm and it was too short) and the rooms are not well sound-insulated Since there is no supermarket on Sesoko, you need to buy your groceries beforehand - but I found my groceries crushed in the fridge a few times… (yoghurt cracked open in the back, shiso smashed, watermelon put together in a bag with an open onion…) I understand that space is limited and I don’t mind restructuring my stuff, but please be careful of other people’s food… please approach other people to find a solution together :)
free snorkling gear, very cozy atmosphere, every evening they est together (keep that in mind if you want to be alone the whole time it might not the best option for you), they lent us even their longboards :D perfect spot for outdoor activities
