How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Struggled to find the parking lot. The room was clean but a bit worn.
The staff were friendly. Great price. Good breakfast. A big room for a big family.

The furniture is very old, dated and damaged. The dressing table stool is easily from the 1970s. I’m not complaining as I understand Hamamatsu is not a tourist town or a key destination. However the rooms do have a certain smell to them which shows their age and reminded me of my grandmothers house. I had a great night in the hotel, but if Hamamatsu wants to improve its image and attract guests, it needs a significant overhaul which would include its hotels. This is not something the hotel can do alone, but the city is really nice and it is a shame they don’t do more to bring in tourists. I had a lovely time, a lovely stay, but the hotel deserves a fresh upgrade
Cheap, cosy and quiet. Self service happy hour was also a surprise. Washing and drying is considerably cheap (over half price) compared to other hotels.

Some breakfast items had already run out even though there was still an hour left and many customers were still arriving. It's important to ensure all breakfast items remain available until the end of the breakfast period.
They have happy hour in evening. 1 free drink per person.

The shower didn't hook into its mount very well; the water pressure kept pushing it out and making it fall down. The Booking.com listing, so far as I saw, didn't specify that they were going to charge an extra ¥1,500 to use the sofa bed, put sheets on it and such
Fairly close to the Hamamatsu station, though some other options are closer. Breakfast was included, and it was pretty good! A fair amount of variety of options Room was clean enough; it felt like a standard Japanese business hotel.

Comfortable, quiet, small room! Nice deep bathtub and excellent breakfast! There was also a happy hour from 6-8p which was a fun way to start the evening. Would recommend for a short stay!!

Nothing at all. The room is small but I already expected that, and we travel very light so minimum storage space is fine for us, but if you have a big suitcase it might be an issue.
The staff were super helpful with parking and check-in. Great free amenities. Breakfast was delicious. Thank you for the gifts on check-out (perhaps because we stayed during the festival so the hotel staff gave us a small bottle of sake and green tea on our way out).

Carpet in the room had stains, but that was only noticeable because they used a very light tan carpet.
Free alcoholic beverage at night and free breakfast. Very comfortable, very large beds. Friendly staff. Easy check-in and check-out. Less than 5 minute walk to the Musical Instrument Museum.

The size of the twin-bed guest room was too small to accommodate 2 adults with luggage.
Excellent location. The room was clean. Staff didn't speak much English but still went out of their way to help us with directions to the sights we wanted to visit in Hamamatsu.

Nice cosy hotel. It is an old hotel refurbished. Amenities available at lobby and also drinks nightly. Good buffet breakfast. Room was big for Japan standards. About 15 min walk from Hamamatsu station

I would give 10 stars if it wasn't for the small blood stain in the sheets. I only realised in the morning after, otherwise I would have asked for another set of sheets. Anyways, I don't think you should have sheets with stains, no matter how small they are.
The room I was had a problem with the water, the staff changed the room immediately 🙏

Could do with a proper mixer tap in the bathroom.
Short walk to the train station and downtown. Excellent value for money. Good Japanese breakfast, and lots of it. Comfy bed and quiet room. Clean towels everyday. Lots of toiletries, if you need them. Free drinks and sweets.

Toilet and bathroom is small but it is the common of most of the hotels in Japan.
