We really enjoyed staying here and experiencing a very authentic, traditional, Japanese hotel.

Staff doing their best in a run-down building.

This hotel looks shabby. Nearby, many hotels that are derelict. The electrical outlet was taped to the wall and came off in my hand. Under the sink was dirty and along the sliding doors of the closet. Parking is narrow or on a steep slope. The water in the washroom comes out boiling hot - which is fine if you want to sanitize your toothbrush and the sink, but could be dangerous. When I entered the hot tub just after 3 PM it was not very hot or full (maybe was being refilled?) There was no coffee or drinks (except water) with the meals unless you pay for them. Table tennis costs Y500 for a short time. For Y52000/1 night/family of 3, it was a bit pricy, especially as a westerner - the Japaense breakfast wasn`t so appealing. I would prefer a buffet breakfast with juices/teas/coffees/fruit/bread/cereals... but I suppose that would be revolutionary for a Japanese hotspring hotel to offer?

Lots of staff. They all recognized us and called us by name, every time we met. If you like to be next to the ocean, this is as close as it gets. The curtains blocked light well. The rooftop outdoor pool has a great view. View from the dining area was also lovely. The front desk clerk was courteous and professional. You can buy ice-cream (soft type in a cone with a variety of flavours to chose from) after dinner. Dinner was fine, with lots of fresh seafood, not too much. There is a toy corner. The pool is most suitable for children (lots of families with young kids/babies were there). There is a swimming beach nearby.
