Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt was all good.
The Staff were courteous, kind, helpful, supportive and attentive to my needs and requests. The room was comfortable, clean and provided the amenities that were needed. The location next to the subway stop was ideal. Thank you.

New ZealandOur room was quite dated and a bit rough around the edges, needs an upgrade. The beds were very hard and bony and the room had a musty smell. If I had booked the room on the same day I would have got a much better rate, there is no reason to book ahead.
The breakfast buffet was fantastic, delicious selection of food. We really loved the view from the dining area too, the garden is beautiful. And we loved the staff, they were kind and respectful.

United StatesI mean, my room wasn't huge, but I got the cheapest room and I'm in Japan, so this is to be expected. If you want a big room in Japan, it's not going to happen at budget prices :)
The location is pretty excellent. It's right on the park. There is a nice coffee stand in the park that is open early - which is really unusual in Sapporo, so that's worth a lot if you like good coffee-snob-level coffee before 10am. There are also good restaurants nearby. The staff was extremely professional. The breakfast is kind of a standard Japanese breakfast buffet, but they also had a few pastries and coffee (many hotel breakfasts only have tea). It's worth having because there aren't many restaurants in Japan that are open for breakfast, so eating a hotel breakfast is kind of your only option in most neighborhoods.

Australia2200Y per night to hire a baby cot is absurd. Western breakfast was cold.
The staff were so friendly and attentive. Beautiful room with a view of the river. Japanese traditional breakfast was great. Great location, right next to subway and out of the hustle and bustle but still only a 10min walk to Susukino. Lawson across the road.

SingaporeIt’s an old hotel since 1964 so do expect vintage vibes. The rooms are really dated so while I expected vintage but it’s not what I like. The hotel is a business hotel, hotel staff service is a hit and miss.
The hotel’s only selling point is its location right next to a beautiful park. The early morning walk through the park left me wow-ed. The hotel itself has a very lovely Japanese garden with water feature also. The little window from the hotel shows a beautiful scenic view out there. The breakfast is awesome with plenty of options made of local produce.

SingaporeNostalgic late 90s early 2000s style hotel that is maintained exceptionally pristine. It reminded me of travelling with my parents in the early 2000s, so it feels homely and warm. The staff helped me with bringing my luggage and even assisted me with directions to onsens and good ramen spots in Sapporo, fantastic 11/10 service.

United StatesEverytime you leave the hotel you gotta pass your keys back to the reception & you collect it the moment you return. The keys are manual so it's not like it's for saving electricity, money or anything. Anything you need that isn't a default arrangement requires a maneuver from a staff to use. Case in point is when the room got a little stuffy but the window can't be opened without a lever that was intentionally detached. According to the receptionist, for security reasons. I'm on the 8th floor. The window doesn't even open beyond 30° angle. Ok sure I guess. They actually sent a housekeeping staff with a lever to my room, just to open a window to let air in. 😂 I feel like an aristocrat, & not in a good way.
I specifically chose a room with a window view of the park, & it did not disappoint. A truly breathtaking sight. Wifi was also consistently fast. They had 2 attendants tag along to show me to my room & insisted on dragging my single (1) medium-sized luggage all the way to my room at the end of the 8th floor. Also offered to explain the room amenities to me. Like okay...I'm sure somebody would like this but it's a little much for me.
