Nothing about the property, just recommend a car for Hakuba to get around - busses are not always reliable.

Amazing stay at Rossi Star! My wife and I stayed for a week in Hakuba to snowboard, and had a great time. Daily breakfast was delicious, we were close to the bus stop and an onsen, and had lots of space to hang around. Rossi was very accommodating, making sure we had groceries and even beers! Got awesome advice on where to find good powder as well. Overall would definitely stay again next time! Thank you Rossi and team!!

The unit had everything you could need. Rossi was very friendly and approachable, he did whatever he could to make our say comfortable. The location was very good, less than a 10 min drive to Tsugaike Kogen and Iwatake ski resorts.

It was an immaculate building, fantastic host, very clean and very homely.It was quiet & peaceful in a pretty woodland setting. Very helpful hosts, lovely fireplace. Great breakfast. Large bedrooms, comfy beds, everything you could want in a ski lodge.Rossi’s weather forcast and condition reports very helpful.

It is a little bit out of town which makes it hard to get in and out of town particularly at night.

The accomodation at Rossi Star is great. Rossi is really helpful and provides information getting around to make your stay awesome. We really enjoyed staying at Rossi Star.

Rossi is an excellent host. He helped us quickly get connected with ski equipment rentals, and made recommendations that made our time on Hakuba wonderful. The property is a very short walk to the shuttle bus, and one stop away from Tsugaike, which ended up being the favorite for my family, though it was easy to take the bus to other slopes as well. Day pass onsens at the Sierra Resort were also wonderful, and a very short walk from Rossi Star.

Location is great in close driving distance from various ski resort. The host is very accommodating and he is a snowboarder too who gives great recommendations on which mountain great for snowboarder, which parking lot is less crowded near the ski resort etc. big and warm dining room with free breakfast, and we can bring our food back to eat at night too, with fridge, utensils, and microwave provided. Spacious room with great temperature control and heater.

After a long day skiing it’s a bit tricky getting to and from town with the shuttle bus timing. A few nights we got some takeaway food and ate at the house which was fine. Rossi also gave us a lift a few times which was really helpful.

The rooms were big, we had 2 rooms for our family. One had a full size bath. Heating worked well, rooms were light and bright. Rossi’s breakfast is great! Western meal bacon, eggs, salad, toast, croissants, juice, tea & coffee. Great start to every day! We had amazing snow too!

Need planning for meals (e.g dinner) as it is not walking distance to restaurants. Will need to catch night shuttle to restaurants nearby. Good to get microwave and instant food stock up at the grocery store if prefer to stay indoor especially if there is a snow storm.

It has been a wonderful experience staying at Rossi Star. Rossi’s house is very clean. It has a warm and cosy vibe. There is a nice cosy fireplace in the dining room where we can warm up after a long day on the ski slopes. It is literally minutes away from the bus stop to catch shuttle. Staying at Rossi Star feels like staying at a friend’s house. My family really enjoyed our short stay there. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Rossi Star is conveniently located just a short drive from the bustling town centre, offering a peaceful retreat. Nestled in a charming alleyway, the property looks stunning during the snowy season. The host maintains the accommodation impeccably, ensuring it is always tidy, and the snow is cleared each morning, so there are no delays when heading to the ski fields. The property owner prepares a delicious breakfast promptly at 7:30 AM each day. This accommodation is definitely on my list for a return visit the next time I’m in Hakuba.

The place is wonderful! For families - as a family without a car, doing snowboarding for the first time ever with relatively young kids, it was a bit distant from the center. We needed to plan our transport or take taxis. For adults doing ski/snowboarding - Rossi's place is a great choice!!

Rossi is super attentive and kind. He tried to help us as much as he could with anything we needed. His hospitality is at the top level. When he could he would arrange transportation for us without additional charge. It was not for granted and highly appreciated. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The atmosphere with the other guests was wonderful.

Only that it rained on our first day. I am sure Rossi would have changed that too, if he could.

The host (and his staff) made this one of the best places we have stayed in. Rossi was super helpful and thoughtful (bringing us a thermometer when my daughter was ill) and went beyond the kind of service you would normally get. We travel a lot and I have rarely seen someone who can make you feel welcome and supported with such ease and grace. He took us to the supermarket to get food when we arrived, he showed us where to rent skis and picked us up when others had to stand and wait for a bus. They even helped us locate something we left on the bullet train on the way up to Hakuba. The accommodation had everything we needed, was clean and warm, in really peaceful surroundings.

Traveling in Hakuba is not convenient, taxi cost too much, recommend renting a car if possible. Restaurants have to reserve otherwise is hard to find places to dine

Pillows could have been a little more comfortable. Still fine but not a perfect pillow.

Amazing staff that was very friendly and flexible with my friend and I, picking us up from the train station, giving us a ride to some of the nearby resorts, giving recommendations on where to go, and even giving us a ride to Tokyo for the return trip. Breakfast was also very nice and a good meal to start out day.

Our stay at ROSSI Star was fantastic, the host Rossi was super friendly and always willing to help. He took us in and introduced us to some friends he had staying, they tought us some local knowledge and provided us with places to eat and other recommendations. Awesome place to stay for family ski. Teens loved the game TV. Immaculately clean throughout. Owner look after us with great care including providing transport between the house and ski mountain. We would come again!

Liked the cozy environment and considerate owner - e.g. the fridge corner was quite useful for storage of our favorite drinks and snacks. My son enjoyed playing with the snow in the yard. Bedroom was fairly spacious and comfy. The common dining and living area was good for a gathering around a table.

The owner Rossi is super personable and considerate. Hakuba is not easy to get around without a car. But Rossi made it easy with arranged shuttles. That is sooo much easier and cheaper than getting a taxi. On new year’s eve, he arranged the tenants to cook and eat together, since it was difficult to walk in to a restaurant on a holiday. Would definitely recommend this place!

I was traveling with three senior boys, Rossi was so friendly. His hospitality and skii competence even gave boys’ confidence. We did feel like at home. The place was steps away to bus stations, and easy access to skii places, and several onsen either private or open-air ones. Rossi star was extremely clean, very well maintained, elegantly decorated like a Scandinavia cottage. One night my friend came to visit us, I borrowed Rossi’s dinning room and had a hot pot of local beef, nice chat, nice food and nice places. In general, it was a wonderful stay, will surely recommend and come back.
