Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere was the smell of smoke in the room, but we opened the window and there was an air purifier, so that helped. Also the parking in the garage was well staffed, but very tight.
Loved the location in the heart of Chinatown. Our room had a view of Chinatown lights and streets. The room had enough space with a closet, 2 full sized beds and a small table with a chair. Things seemed dated but clean. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. It offered a great assortment of breads, croissants, danish pastries, a chef taking egg orders, alongside pre-made scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon. There were Chinese items like congee, mapo tofu, stir fried noodles and rice. A yogurt bar with some fresh fruit and other toppings. A lovely salad bar with 3 types of dressings. Assorted fresh juices, teas and coffee.

SpainThere was some confusion over the bed in our room. We booked an extra-large family bed, presuming we would actually fit in it. We did not. It was a normal 1.80m bed, and nowhere near big enough for 4 people. Perhaps if you are sleeping with two very young children, it would be ok. But ours are aged 11 and 9, and only one of them fitted in the bed with us. I don't understand why Booking is allowing this configuration to be booked for families. We were told we had to pay extra each night to use the sofa bed. In the end our younger child slept on the floor, which she didn't mind, but we were taken by surprise by this issue.
This is a nice hotel right in Chinatown and near Yamashita park. You can also walk to Minato Mirai 21 port area, which is lovely especially lit up in the evening.

United KingdomThe hotel is large and offers a decent range of services. Rooms are comfortable with space to relax. The Chinatown area is lively and is a good base from which to explore Yokohama and to visit Tokyo. The staff, and concierge in particular, were incredibly helpful with guiding us to local attractions and also taking care of forwarding luggage.

JapanThe mattresses were very hard. It’s my only complaint. I know that’s pretty common in Japan, and maybe our backs were in such bad shape from 5 days of travel, but they were pretty dang uncomfortable. The wonderful staff brought us two extra pillows upon request which helped a bit.
Some of the best hotel staff I’ve encountered on my travels. Exceptionally nice and very tentative. The non-renovated rooms are a little outdated, but clean. The double twin room was big enough for my husband and I and our 8yo twins plus some luggage. We liked it so much we came back for another night when we missed our shin. lol The location is great. It’s super close to the train station and in China Town which has great food and atmosphere.

AustraliaYou can't control the temperature in the rooms, they were super warm and if you open the window to let air in, it's super noisy outside. The water was far from our room and the water jug was very small. The photos shown on here show premium rooms that are really large, for 3 of us the room was a lot smaller. Still decent and had 3 beds which was great.
The staff were friendly, the hotel looks nice. They supplied basic toiletries. Location was fun, but I wouldn't recommend staying close to Chinatown if I were to do it again.

Germany-
Excellent service starting from day one check-in throughout my 6 day stay. All staff so helpful and ready to go the extra mile to be of help. Hotel location super practical with access to metro station and bus stop within 6 minute walking distance, plenty of eateries in Chinatown and, for chilling out, in very close proximity to Yamashita Park by the water. Plus, bus shuttle stop to Haneda airport right by the hotel entrance: can only warmly recommend this hotel!

AustraliaOnly two towels per room with three people seems a little stingy for such a fancy hotel.
The room was spacious, for Japan. The buffet breakfast was amazing, so many food options from Japan and China and even cereal and bread for the Americans who prefer led bland sugary foods and coke for breakfast over the beautiful chef prepared buffet offerings. The staff were also amazing, very helpful, and knowledgeable about the local area, with many fluent in English. The hotel provided pyjamas were a nice treat.
