Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainI did not have any common language with the cleaning staff. (Yes, I did communicate with the receptionist in Japanese.) I believe, basically, this hotel is solely for inbound = foreign visitors. OK, that’s nothing negative but I just don’t believe this is the best place for native Japanese travelers… They do not accept cash, just for your info.
New, clean, chic and urban. Nothing short. Nothing is missing.

GermanyThe rooms are on the small side (typical in Japan) and after 20 years they are starting to look a bit tired. This time I found the room service a bit weird, one day they didn’t do my bed because I had left a T-shirt on it and staff are not allowed to touch items of clothing (??). I kept getting messages slipped under my door explaining stuff like this. Also, I was there during an holiday period and they suspended all laundry services for 5 days, something I have never heard of, not even on Christmas day in Europe. PS not a big fan of reception crammed with stored luggage, but just a detail.
Been here before and I will probably go back. I find the location convenient because it’s close to many metro lines. The area is quite lively and full of restaurants. The interior design is pleasant.

AustriaThe location was ideal for our last two days in Tokyo. There are many good restaurants nearby and it was also well connected to the underground. The room would have been a bit too small for a longer stay (more than 2 nights) but otherwise it was very ok and clean.

United StatesA good and affordable hotel to stay at. Although the room was smaller than what I am used to in the US, it was still a good room to relax and stay overnight. Area was nice and there are many restaurants to choose from. At night it gets a bit crowded but it is still a relatively quiet area for a hotel. The nearby train station was the best traveling around tokyo. Recommend it for those looking for an affordable place to stay in tokyo.

AustraliaThe room was a bit dark. You couldn't see out of the window, but at least it did open for some fresh air.
The breakfast at the Cafe/restaurant next door. The evening meal we had at the cafe. Helpful and friendly staff. Being able to leave our luggage there when we went to Kyoto for 3 days - and then returned. Very close to Akasaka Mitsuke metro station. Great area with a real buzz in the evenings without being very touristy. The Hie Shrine is only about 5 - 10 minutes walk away.

LatviaWe did not like the breakfast, which is a choice of the same 6 options every day. The food was generally of good quality, and we can see how others might like it, but those options were not for us. Also, it was a bit slow and not very convenient if you have early morning activities. Additionally, on three mornings we asked not to have the salad dressing, which we did not like, but on two of those occasions it was ignored, and we just got the default meal. We did not complain, though, so as not to delay our departure any further.
The location was excellent, close to multiple metro lines and very convenient for travel. The room was nice and cozy.

United KingdomThe room was fine- a little small as expected. No hooks anywhere in the room / bathroom to hang towels which was a bit annoying. Breakfast was not fantastic in our opinion- too much sugar on everything.
Location was excellent- many places to eat and plenty of useful shops for bits and pieces. Really well located on the Ginza G and Maranouchi M metro line so it was easy to reach the hot spots.

Lovely hotel room , very spacious. The beds ( 3 single beds) were exceptionally comfortable as were the pillows We liked the huge shower room / bath, in the bedroom., separated from.room.by perspex doors and shower curtain....very quirky.but different. Powerful shower. Good lighting and lots of side lights. Exposed brick work and black units looked modern in the bedroom .Plenty of toiletries and very good quality shampoo, etv Overall, it was a little bit different in a modern, classy way.. Excellent location with 2 subways very nearby. Many good restaurants in thd area, and convenience stores. We really enjoyed being in that part of Tokyo.

Czech RepublicSpeaking of design - it was totally impractical and honestly extremely depressive. Whole hotel is black. And I mean tomb like pitch black. But the worst was the bed - our double room layout offered only one side access to the bed - so the other person had to climb over the other every time. Its clearly a tiny single room sold as double (just throw in extra pillow). So order bigger room.
The hotels location is great, very close to underground station and many restaurants. The room itself was small with interesting design and nice, modern, yet not very practical bathroom. For the price in the area, it was ok.
