How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Spacious room with comfortable beds. Perfect location close to Takamatsu Port, shops and dining. A bonus that the airport limousine bus service stops right out front!

The walls are too thin, we can hear absolutely everything from the next room or corridor. Fine if nobody is there but not ideal when somebody comes back at 1am and is chatting in the corridor. Bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.
The location is great, the breakfast was the highlight, the quality was great, good choice and the breakfast room staff were the best. The room was a good size, clean and amenities available from reception.

We had the triple room for two adults and two kids. Very good size and actually had a bonus room with tatami mats. Excellent location within walking distance of the station, restaurants, stores, and ferry. Laundry facilities on site.

Just right in front of the hotel, there’s street trees and thousands of birds were screeching all night. It was quite annoying althoug it was an unavoidable phenomenon. Except this, everything was fine.

We both unfortunately had medical issues, and the duty manager was very helpful, supportive and kind in assisting us to have medical attention at excellent practices to assist us. We found all front of house staff most helpful ably assisted by the duty manager avery comfortable

Breakfast - egg station closes way before end of official breakfast time.

Stayed for 5 nights with elderly parents, would love if food switched up a bit every couple days.
Friendly, professional, prompt service. Great and helpful staff. Quiet despite very busy.

Everything was satisfactory therefore there was nothing I did not like.
The breakfasts were very good with a varied choice depending on whether you were European or Japanese. The hotel was ideally situated near the railway station and the bus for Takamatsu airport stopped right outside the hotel door. The room facilities were ideal and the room was cleaned every day. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room we stayed in was very small and was next to the cleaner's cupboard/room, so it could be quite noisy.
Great breakfast with something to suit everyone and a convenient location near lots of undercover shops and restaurants. About a 10 minute lazy walk to the station and 25 minutes walk to Ritsurin garden (a must see). Also close to Takamatsu Castle. Loved the bikes for hire, we just wish we could get them every day! Staff were very friendly.

The AC wasn't great. We were lucky that the weather wasn't hot so we just opened the window a little.
The room was a good size and we liked the Japanese screens on the windows. Room was very clean and the staff were exceptional. The bathroom was bigger than other hotels we have stayed in Japan. Staff was very helpful with our baby, offering a bed guard and removing one of the beds so we had space for the travel cot we brought with us.

The breakfast time was a bit rush, as they set the last order for fried eggs at 9:30 am. We were there at 9:10 am and the lady urged us to order our egg choices immediately... Since the chef only prepared the eggs for guests, I think the last order can be extended to 9:45 am. The housekeepers didn't clean the cups well. Carpark fee at Y1,200 per day should be waived for guests booking two or more rooms; nearby hotels might offer free parking!
Hotel location is excellent as the shopping alleys are within 3-minute walk. It's clean and comfortable, and the reception staff were all friendly and courteous. The buffet-style breakfast was good with western and Japanese choices of food. The tables were clean and tidy, and the restaurant was stylish with high quality deco.
