Lovely owners/family who were incredibly kind and generous, offering us lifts several times. Lift passes can be purchased at the property for a discounted price. The property is located about a 10-15 minute walk from Escal Plaza, which can feel a little long in boots, but it’s really not too bad. There is a shuttle in the morning and at the end of the day to get to/from Escal Plaza, but you’ll need to walk if your plans don’t align with the shuttle time.

Not a lot. Slightly dated decor but perfectly functional and clean. Location is good - Slight walk up to lifts holding skis etc but not too bad if wearing soft shoes.

The toilets are a bit small for 6’3” people. Heating in the room occasionally shut down making it a little chilly in the morning.

It’s very quaint and authentic, good size rooms, great breakfast and very friendly helpful staff. Great bath for relaxing after a hard day skiing. Both restaurants on site serve fantastic traditional food at a reasonable price for the area.

The people who own and run the property are so kind and thoughtful, they drew us our train schedule to Osaka and offered and dropped us off at Hakuba St. The loveliest people, the accomadation is warm cosy and perfect for our first time in Hakuba and even has a restaurant in the hotel serving the most delish food. Can’t be more grateful or recommend this place enough a real highlight of our Japan trip

The owners of the building were very kind and helpful, the rooms were well accommodated and the bathrooms in the rooms are good. We ate in the restaurant for dinner 3 nights in a row which was exceptional. Location is brilliant being only 10 minutes walk to the Goryu lift and ski hire shops.

A little dated.

Close to ski field, a large rambling property, cosy and homely fittings, several lounges to sit in. Friendly and welcoming owner and her family made it a lovely stay. Excellent restaurant on site - recommend both breakfast and evening meals.

Cozy, eccentric atmosphere. Amazing and very lovely staff. The food was so good that we wanted to eat there every night and didn’t even bother checking out the other restaurants 😆. There is a little onsen downstairs for private use that is perfect after getting in from the cold. A shuttle bus runs often to the escal plaza (takes 5-10 mins to get there) so we found it just perfect for snowboarding. Can’t wait to visit again some time.

Hmm, quite an interesting accommodation, I would say. The building is old and the facilities outdated. There is a smell of mould in the rooms. The bathroom is not properly ventilated, and slightly turning on the hot water already creates a lot of humidity. The blanket keeps you warm at night rather than the heater. You don't have that many amenities in the room. Moreover, there is no dryer, so be careful with washing clothes there.

The positive side of the experience is the hosts, who were very friendly and helpful.

shared bathroom and toilet and you have to climb up and down the stairs to use the toilet and bathroom is at the other connected building of the lodge in the basement. The boss and his staff were ok for the first 1-2 days, and I specially extended my stay by a day and initially was subjected to my car rental availability too. After which everything was done and able to extend my stay, the rate of the room wasn’t what I was promised and became more expensive. And the attitude of them changed for the worse. After checking out, I still have another 14 hours till I have to leave and drive to Tokyo. But I was so pissed off till I took all my luggage and stuff which was a lot and left. I went to the lodge of my previous visit and stay and the boss and staffs welcome me to have my luggage and stuff safe keep with them and also asked me to make myself at home even though I didn’t stay with them for this trip. What more can I say?
