This place was just outstanding - we (couple) travelled with our 12 year old. Oceanos villa, and also the adjacent Sky Oceanos hotel are small and intimate. Jordi, the host, always has great tips on what to do and takes great care of his guests. You have access to a secluded beach - we were snorkeling by ourselves…

The house is an amazing place with a direct access (30 seconds walking) to a beach that is essentially a private beach but connected to a longer beach. Very good place with kids. Garden is outside, bright house with large window and patio, as well as big kitchen and tatami style bedroom. Jordy and Eirko are amazin host that also share their own life experience in Ishigaki and provide kayaks and paddle boat for free. GREAT GREAT PLACE!

The beds were a bit more firm than we are used to, but that is all preference. They were clean and comfortably made up.

Our host, Jordy, was wonderful! He greeted us with a warm welcome and fresh produce from his garden. He had amazing recommendations for local restaurants, snorkel spots, and was able to answer any questions we had promptly. The property was very clean and well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. We were provided with full-body rash guards as well as life jackets to use while we stayed. The garden overlooking the beach was lovely and just steps down the path was our own private beach, shared only by the few homes in the area. We had an amazing stay and hope to come back! The property does seem a bit remote, but it was just what we were looking for. Just a quick 30 min drive and you can get to the main down, but there are a few great restaurants close to the house, within 10 min. This villa is a great launchpad for your stay in Ishigaki!

The hosts were very welcoming and always available to answer any questions we had. The house has a nice garden with terrace perfect for barbecuing and it has an entrance to the beach. The beach is quite empty most of the time which we found amazing. We stayed for 9 days with our 8 month old baby and the house had everything we needed as a family for this amount of time. We had a very good time and definitely want to go back!

This was our 4th visit to Ishigaki Island and we spent 7 nights here in Océanos in August. It was truly authentic and relaxing experience for us. Jordy san and Eriko san were so hospitable from the pre-arrival stage. Everything we needed were equipped in the villa incl. kids toys. The location was quite far from downtown, however, this allowed us to enjoy stunning stars in the sky in the evening as well as to enjoy crystal-clean private beach. We regularly went to downtown to purchase some groceries for BBQ or cook at villa. Thus, we did not find any inconvenience for meal while our stay. I did not have chance to meet and chat with Jordy san this time and we will definitely return back to Océanos on our future visit to Ishigaki Island.

We have been to Ishigaki Island many times and have enjoyed all kinds of accommodation. If you go for shopping, nightlife and action, this is definitely NOT your place. But if you are looking for a place to relax, in beautiful surroundings, with a beach all for yourself, gorgeous sunsets, and a very well equipped house along with great hosts, this is the perfect place to stay.

If you want to experience the real Ishigaki life stay at Oceanos. The owners are wonderful. Jordy’s love for the outdoors and his knowledge of Ishigaki makes his tours even more special. Highly recommend guests to go on one or two of his tours. It is a bit far from the town but that was not a con for us. The drive through the farmlands was beautiful. We enjoyed eating outside on some nights while watching the beautiful sunset. There are a few delicious places to eat not far away, and local juice stands. The stargazing at night is SO AMAZING ! Thank you for everything Jordy!

There are not many restaurants open for dinner nearby (though right next door had a hotel with dinner). We knew beforehand that we would need to head downtown, 30 min away, to get to the supermarkets and nicer restaurants, so it really wasn't a problem.

Jordy was a very conscientious and thoughtful host. We had everything we needed at this well-equipped place. It was a lovely stay. Parking was easy, right off the beach, near the mangroves, kayaking available... hotel next door had good food. Very quiet. He let us borrow his telescope, perfect for stargazers.. Internet worked great, my son did not complain about his gaming. It was a relaxing place to stay!

The owners (Jordy and Eriko) were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in late due to our flight time. We arrived to the villa somewhat later in the evening and they were very welcoming. They live on the property and are a great asset for local eateries, site seeing, snorkeling, kayaking, trekking and general conversation about the island (this was a big plus especially on the bad weather days). The villa was excellent, plenty of room for a family and has a well-stocked kitchen for any type of cooking. The view from the garden is remarkable, especially at sunset. The private beach access and semi-private beach was excellent for finding shells on our daily walks. We loved the quiet and slower pace of the area and did not mind the short drive into town to get to the grocery store. There are several restaurants nearby but we preferred to cook at the villa. We have already told many of our friends about this amazing place and would definitely stay again, if time allowed. We highly recommend the villa to individuals and families for the most enjoyable get away from the busy Japan life.
