How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery friendly and helpful staff!
The carpeted floors in the hallways are filthy. Stains all over them. Really off putting. The beds are a bit hard and the rooms could use a new paint job (especially around the luggage area and/or on the closet doors, but the location is fantastic and the views are amazing!

We sincerely appreciate your feedback. However, we apologize for any discomfort caused by the carpet in the hallway. Verified reviewThe location was perfect. This hotel is a stone throw away from everywhere I wanted to go in Tenjin. I could easily walk to and fro which made my stay easy.
I was quite disappointed with the state of the room and even the hallway when I got there. Considering the photos I've seen, the description, the price and even some reviews, I thought this would be a comfortable, clean stay. However there was a lot more wear and tear on the furniture and fixtures in the room. It felt poorly cleaned and ventilated as there was visible dirt on the walls, furniture, vents and there was hair in the bathroom from previous guest(s). Even a better clean would have made the stay just a little more comfortable.

Verified reviewConvenient and clean. Grateful for a front desk staff on Apr 3 morning ( around 6+ am) who upon our enquiry on transfer to airport and our difficulty to get taxi from App as we don’t have Japan mobile contact, offered right away to call taxi for us and told us the hotel has link to 4 taxi companies, and within minutes he got us two taxis. His excellent service was so different from what we were told on Apr 2’s staff who served us (refer to next comment)
On April 2, upon our enquiry for transfer to airport, a front desk staff told us there is no taxi so early (around 6:30am) to airport because in Fukuoka, taxi driver don’t start work so early! And told us we can try using App to find our own way or else take train. We were very disappointed with the service offered. And was appalled that Fukuoka transport is so bad! At that moment we regretted booking the hotel for our stay before departing Fukuoka as getting to airport is so difficult.

Verified reviewThe property is located in an ideal location for tourist.
The hotel needs upgrading. It’s deceiving to costumers because the lobby looks amazing. The minute you step off of the elevator it looks like you’re at a motel. The carpets were stained with bleach.

Bed was rock hard, as was the small pillow. Carpet was stained and unclean, particularly in the corridors. Breakfast was very poor.
Thank you very much for staying at our hotel the other day. We apologize that there were a lot of points that could not meet your expectations.

Verified reviewLocation is close to Tenjin shopping zone and subway, however if your plan is commuting through Hakata station, you have to take subway or bus to be there which is tight during rush hour. The building is locating next to river which is nice view, however if you travel with couple and book for a single bed, it will be a city view. They give you new towel and pajamas everyday by hanging at your door. The food was simple, same menu everyday and ran out super fast.
There is bunches of dust everywhere, on top of lamp, on top of the door. I sneezed a lot from my allergy. The bathtub is small, the closet is old, the wall is very thin. I could hear banging noise from other rooms every night. They give you only one pillow and it was kind of healthy pillow? It has a weird sensation and not soft at all. Should have give option of river view for single bed type of room. Bidet, wash bowl and bathtub are in one room. I had to do my make up while my couple was doing his private business. No room for shoes. No shower cap provided. If you will leave to the airport via subway, avoid rush hour. Also it’s not convenient to take a bus with huge luggages. So your best choice would be a taxi which you can ask one at the lobby.
Thank you very much for staying at our hotel. Also, thank you for choosing our hotel from many hotels. Please give us the opportunity of improvement by all means. We sincerely look forward to seeing you again.
