Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe AC wasn’t great in the female dorm room in the main building and the annex and main building don’t have any signs saying they’re different. The AC in the common room was great and the room was cool at all times but the female dorm wasn’t cold no matter how low we set the air. The buildings didn’t have signs differentiating which was the annex and which was the main building so we got a little lost on the first night but once in the right building, it was very straightforward!!
The location was between everything so walking anywhere was easy. The street was quiet at night and people were very courteous of the quiet hours. The common area was very cozy and you never felt like you were intruding. The staff were very kind and friendly. They helped us with finding the right building after getting lost. The self check in was also very simple and to the point! It was super helpful since we came in later than planned.

United KingdomToo far from the station with luggage. Good for light travellers. After flying for 24 hours the check in was hard work all automated but not obvious.
Table to eat downstairs, good hot showers, chatting to other travellers while we ate in the eating space downstairs.

ThailandOverall, I really like this place. I stayed in the main building below is a cafe. Walk around that area all day. If you like to walk, you don't need to take the train. The bunk bed room is good. Private if compared to other places But the living room doesn't have natural light. But I've been traveling all day, it's considered very good overall compared to the price and location.

ThailandOverall, I really like this place. I stayed in the main building below is a cafe. Spicy ginger ale soda is very delicious. Normally, there are not many choices in other places. You have to guess whether it's sweet or spicy. The bunk bed room is good. Private if compared to other places But the living room doesn't have much natural light. But I've been traveling all day, so it's considered very good overall if compared to the price and location.

United StatesThe dryer worked very poorly. We resorted to a nearby laundromat when it still hadn't dried a small load of clothes after three 30-minute dry cycles. The location isn't directly close to any train stations or convenience stores, though it's within doable walking dis
It was cozy! Minimalist, but just enough space to be workable. The staff was very helpful. There were no bathtubs or anything, but the showers were quite nice. The main building is right on a covered shopping street, so it's a fairly fun area. Not too far away from the Nagoya station; maybe a 15- or 20-minute walk?

JapanThe shopping street gets pretty dark early, so if you're returning around 11pm it may feel a little dark - though it is generally safe.
It was a very nicely hidden place in one of the shopping districts in Nagoya. The capsule bed itself was very spacious, and the bathroom was much wider than I thought, better than a lot of capsule hotels I've been! There's also a good common room for working if you are a night person.

PhilippinesThe air conditioning was not functioning properly during our stay. On several nights, the room became uncomfortably warm as the unit failed to provide adequate cooling.
The facilities and cleanliness of the hostel are impressive—everything is well-maintained and thoughtfully arranged for guest comfort. While the location is slightly removed from Nagoya Station—just one stop away—it remains conveniently accessible and doesn’t detract from the overall experience.

JapanEarly check-in (6pm). During my stay the other guests talked late in the evening. Although I closed the door to the bedroom, the door was just a sliding thing, so it didn't do much and I could still hear the voices very clearly. The laundry and used towels piled up.
Close to the main station (~15min walk), in a shopping mall but quiet at night, comfortable beds, kitchen with what is needed. The annex building seems newer (and more clean) and I liked it better than the main building where I stayed the first time.

Hong Kongthe domitory is so small that if you bring a small suitcase there may be not enough space to open it. Also the checkin time ends at 6pm, fortunately there is auto checkin if you arrive later.

United KingdomThe room with the capsules itself was quite warm. As I was staying in spring I could crack open a window and let a cool breeze in. This would not be possible during the summer, so I suggest perhaps not staying in a capsule at the height of the heat
I was pleasantly surprised by Nagonoya. I'd booked a capsule there as a "backup" just in case I couldn't find anything else over the F1 weekend. I ended up staying there - it was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The futon bed was very comfortable however a second pillow would have been preferable. The location is great too, on quiet shopping street close to the subway station, and a 15 walk to Nagoya station. It's a walkable distance to Nagoya Castle as well. The showers are like pressure washers.

Hong KongThe common space in the guest house area could feel quite limited. Corridor in the room is pretty narrow and can only accommodate one or two people (maximum) opening their suitcases at the same time if the room is fully occupied (the room was not fully occupied during my stay so it was fine)
The Guest House is located right at the Endo-ji Shotengai. Although it is not a busy shopping street, you will find convenience stores, restaurants, local supermarket, café, dollar store, Shinto shrine, and more in the area. If you are traveling from Nagoya Station with luggage, instead of walking for 20 minutes or taking the subway (where you would need to carry your luggage up and down stairs), you can take the bus (Bus name: 名駅12). Be sure to check the timetable in advance, as the wait can be long. Nagonoya is a warm and small Guest House. I stayed in a 6-Bed Female Dormitory Room, which was right above the café. Be prepared to carry your suitcase up a flight of stairs (about 15 steps) if you book this room. Check-in time is until 6pm. If you are arriving later, you will need to self-check in. Although the room itself has limited space, the bed was quite comfortable and offered sufficient room. There is also a small rack at the end of the bed where you can hang-dry small towels. A washing machine and dryer are available in the shower room for laundry. The entire guest house area has one washroom, two shower rooms, a small common area, and a compact but well equipped kitchen. If needed, there is another washroom on the Café level downstairs. The staffs at the café/ guest house are friendly and helpful. They can also assist with storing your luggage for a few days, with a reasonable fee, before your check-in date.

United KingdomI wish I could have tried the egg sandwich served by the cafe, but the opening times didn't align with my travel plans. Also, bear in mind there's only one bathroom which is not gender separated.
The location is very convenient. The check-in process was really easy even out of hours. The individual cabins were spacious and cosy, and the common room felt very welcoming. Bonus points for the ability to use the cafe space downstairs when the cafe is closed. The guesthouse has only three rooms, making it feel a lot more personal. The shower was perfect, just what a tired traveller needs.

GermanyAs a usual capsule hostel, there is not much to expect about the comfort of the bed, as well as the walking space inside the room.
I just realised at the time I arrive at the hostel that it is located right in the historical area of Nagoya, where I could experience some old time of the city.
