How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The construction at the station was a bit difficult to navigate through based on Google Maps and the location of the hotel! This is no fault of the hotel, though! The hotel also has an onsen available to patrons, but I was unable to use it due to tattoo rules! This was very unfortunate, and I wish that hotels were a bit more lenient about this because of all the foreign travelers.
The location was right across from the station! The room was very neat and clean, and was quite spacious for a single traveler. I also enjoyed the view from the window, and the atmosphere of the hotel was sophisticated. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful with going over the check-in procedure and information! English seemed good according to my friend, who checked in with another representative! I used Japanese after they confirmed I could understand them, which was also very nice! The elevators are regulated based on keycard access as well, which is very safe for lone travelers.

Parking was height restricted so our 1.7M high vehicle would not fit. The alternate affiliated public parking lot was about a 8 minute walk away.
Great location across the road from Niigata station and lots of restaurants in the area. Public areas are nice and there's a small sento and laundry facilities.

Not the hotels fault and it impacts everyone, but just a general note. The hotel is right across the station; however, there is major construction between the hotel and station. I am sure it will be completed on time and for the better.
Excellent location, right next to station. Lobby area was really nice.

Hotel provided fantastic value for its price point. The hotel came with an indoor onsen, sauna and free massage chair, with a dedicated lift for hotel guests to access the amenities. Hotel was also located within a 5 mins walk to the nearest station. Staff was able to converse well in English and also allowed for luggage storage before check in time. Got the twin room, which also came with a tub. Otherwise, the room size is about what you will expect. Not spacious, but enough to move around without feeling cramped. Overall, great value for money!

the toilet is in old design style and can be better. water pressure is a bit weak.
perfect location and the hotel looks nicer than those nearby the stations. hotel staffs are helpful. toilet interior is acceptable and could be better

The hotel is very close to the train station. When I walked back to the hotel from dinner. I found Yodobashi Camera is just next door. I was surprised that it was closed at 10pm, which was much later than others at 7:30pm or 8:30pm.

The low lamp in the room .. we kept hitting our head. The lamp is very dusty in need of a wipe.

Perhaps the hotel can offer more amenitites i.e Razor, shaving cream etc for free. I was suprised they are only available at an additional cost.
Rooms are clean and spacious. The spa/public bath is great. Breakfast was excellent too. Location is superb. Staff were friendly and helpful, despite the language barrier. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Will definitely book this hotel if I visit Niigata again.

The spa/sauna isn't tattoo friendly. Not a major problem just a missed experienced for international/tattooed visitors.
