Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.

Location is close to the local train station. It was rainy and the host offered umbrella and welcomed us when we arrived. The view of the room was breathtaking and spectacular and we can enjoy complementary tea and snacks while enjoying the river view. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and we had a variety of dishes, like a Michelin star restaurant. The room was exceptionally clean and we had a wonderful experience.

United KingdomThe private onsen was a bit expensive but I understand it is to limit use of guests using it as there were only two and I think only one was in use when we were there. The food took some time getting used to as it was traditional old Japanese style food, but the lay out of it was stunning that I kept taking pictures!
We loved our wonderful stay here at Nanaeyae. We are english tourists on our honeymoon and they accommodated us in the best possible way as there was a little bit of a language barrier, but the staff were all wonderful and so patient. We loved experiencing the traditional Japanese lifestyle and food, and the public onsen was luscious with gorgeous views of the autumn forest on the mountains. It was a good location if you want to relax up in the mountains and take the train with beautiful views to visit Nikko's main highlights: Shinkyõ Bridge and other places.

AustraliaSome of the service was missing little bits, such as a courtesy call to dinner (we seem to have surprised them when we arrived at our scheduled time), making tea for you after dinner, etc. maybe these are not standard. But overall it is a very minor point and the staff were very polite and earnest.
Great views, amazing food, lovely staff, exceptional bath that had an incredible outdoor section.

Excellent staff. Excellent food. Excellent location. We loved our stay at Nanaeyae. The staff was incredibly attentive and professional. They made our stay really special. And even more so as it was my birthday and they had prepared a bday message for me. We are very grateful for the presents too. This is the best place to experience the traditional Japan. The food is delicious and prepared with care; we loved the variety and the opportunity to try different things; the hot spring was the best ending to our day. The rooms are nicely decorated and have gorgeous views (at least ours had!). But the service is what makes this place so special. Thank you again for such great experience. Cristina & Nicholas

It was our first time staying in a ryokan, and it did gave us a really good impression. Property itself was nice, located in a small town beside the river. Room was facing the river so we can hear the soothing noise from the river. Dinner was excellent--food kept on coming, great quality, great variety. They even managed to cater our diet (without pork and alcohol). I love the outdoor onsen. It's very relaxing to soak in the hot water facing the river.
