I liked that ithe hotel was a genuine ryokan. The room was simple but adequate, the breakfasts, bountiful, and the public bath very nice. The staff was helpful. The location of the Nakayasu is excellent. Almost all the sites I wanted to see were in walking distance.

It was the real thing. Totally loved the japanese ryokan, onsen and breakfast experience. Staff was sooooo welcoming and eager to show us around. They even bought us presents as it was out honeymoon. Location is really good, super close to Kanazawa castle grounds.

I would have loved a more detailed description of the food, since it was typical from Kanazawa, but the people speak very few English, so we had to guess by our own and taste.

Very typical ryokan, beautiful experience :) we had also the Japanese dinner and breakfast, very recommended! The staff was super kind and the property is near the centre and major attractions.

The location is perfect , near to the main Kanazawa attractions . Hospitality was sublime and people around very kind . high level of breakfast as well , we had the Japanese version .Additionally, I had a small injuries before reaching the ryokan and they offered me support and some bends! Really nice place and hearted people

Not a simply bus ride from train station so I just took a taxi. That's about the only issue I could find with the place, so no complaints at all!

My first real experience of a ryoken and it was excellent. The room was just a matress on the floor, a low table and cupboard. Basic, but super clean, comfortable and what I was looking for. I took the Japanese breakfast most mornings and it was excellent and had their Japanese dinner one evening which was quite an experience - in a good way :-) Everyone was very friendly - spoke some English or spoke it well enough (my Japanese is very poor by comparison) -the ryoken was spotlessly clean and it was in a nice area with access to the Castle, the River and older disctricts, plus the Onsen was excellent.

Wifi did not work well

It was my first time staying at a Ryokan, and it was super nice! The staff was kind and the room was clean and comfortable. There were not a lot of guests when I was there, so I had the onsen all to myself.

The breakfast was amazing, the staff were so friendly and I loved ending the day in the onsen, looking out at the little garden through the window while it snowed. The location was great, really central to everything. We walked everywhere.

Best place we stayed in Japan, the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Service is outstanding. We booked the dinner and it was incredible, such an amazing experience. The onsen was a delight as well and I had it pretty much to myself twice :)

Nakayasu Ryokan is a charming, homey feeling place to stay in an excellent location in Kanazawa. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to accommodate our 1-year old daughter. The room was spacious and clean and we were very comfortable on the traditional futons. The onsen is small and simple but all you need and I had it to myself most nights - the perfect way to end the day. The traditional Japanese breakfast each morning was delicious. Great value for money.
