Finding it wasn't easy as there is no good signage outside but trust in the description & Google maps. The bedroom door would not shut and very cold in corridor.

Authentic Japanese minshuku with excellent location close to the escalator leading to Hakube gondola and also to several Onsen and the main shopping street. The owner is a lovely old lady - just be careful about the shoes and slipper rules. Ski and boot storage in the basement . Breakfast was beautiful, Japanese style and very tasty

Nothing, it was perfect for our stay and exceeded our expectations.

You need to understand what you're getting; this is minshuku, not a full service ryokan. (but you'd be forgiven if you didn't realise!) The owner is lovely, extremely accommodating, and really exceeds her duty to her guests! Classic Japanese hospitality, which is becoming exceedingly rare, especially in the Australian enclave resorts! The house is old, but has been well maintained and recently renovated; all facilities are in excellent working order. The location is unbeatable, and I think it's safe to say she undercharges for her rooms.

It’s really ski-in/ski-out accommodation. I’ll highly recommend for digital nomad or who just wanna go snowboarding every single morning on onzawa Yuzawa snow resort and doing work at night! The owner is nice, friendly and she can say basic English all you need for just snowboarding and get hot spring over there! I’ll definitely visit her again!

The Japanese breakfast was very good although being not as agile anymore we struggled to sit on the floor every morning. The location is awesome.

- Outside the room the halls & bathroom were freezing cold....had to put on a jacket and beanie to go to the bathroom - Bed was very hard....added extra bedding on top of the mattress to make it more comfortable and then it was ok

- Excellent location only a few minutes walk to Yu moving road to get to Hikage gondola, and very close to 2 Onsen and village shops and restaurants - Very friendly and helpful owner Seiko-san and staff Deanna - Good traditional Japanese breakfast served at 7.20am each day - Warm room with individual heating - Great value for money

The shower did not work, and had to use the tap to get hot water. But this was expected from the reviews, and there are plenty of public bathhouses in the town.

Great location, close to restaurants and hot spring. The inn was on a slope so might be tough if you are carrying lots of luggage. The owner Seiko san was really kind and it was a humble stay.

I liked it all. Perhaps a shared kitchenette with simple tea making facilities would make this place even better.

We had such a nice Japanese style room and very comfortable futon mattresses and bedding. Slept so well. The owner is a wonderful lady and so very kind and helpful. The location is absolutely fantastic - right next to the most prominent onsen and right in the centre of town, yet quiet at night. Very close to the moving escalator. It's one of the older buildings in town but that's what I liked about it, it had lots of character. The whole family really enjoyed our short stay. THANK YOU!

You will need to be prepared for the fact that this is not a real fancy hotel or guesthouse, so amenities are limited. It is just a beautiful real Japanese house you will be staying in.

The hostess is an amazing and sweet woman who can speak very good English and has helped me a lot to find some hidden gems in Nozawaonsen! She also makes great traditional Japanese breakfasts which really made my stay in Nozawaonsen feel like I was actually living in Japan!

The parking spot is 400m away. Not a major issue since you won't need the car during your stay, but it involves a bit of logistics on the first and last day.

As written by other reviewers, no bells and whistles, but does the job just fine. This a very typical Japanese inn. Excellent location. I would definitely go again.
