We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

GermanyThere was a light smell in the room, which might have come from the carpet and curtains. I generally prefer rooms without carpets, cause they can be kept more clean and without smells.
The room was more or less clean. The bathroom a bit bigger than standard and looked like newly build. There were no signs of prior usage.

AustraliaThe parking wasn’t ideal. The hotel had a paid parking lot for ¥1200 over night, but we went out to pick up dinner and it was ¥500 to leave the lot after being there for an hour. Then when we returned, the parking lot was full and we had to find another paid parking lot close by. This lot was almost full as well, so it would be difficult if you had to search for a lot being unfamiliar with the area. This lot was cheaper than the hotel’s and we opted to use this one each day instead. Also, the bathroom was on different levels, ie step up into the bathroom and then up into the toilet.
Good location close to the train station. Breakfast was good.

BelgiumI only stayed 2 nights at Matsue. I liked the hotel so much that I wish I could stay longer. It is really close to the station and it is convenient to visit the Shimane Art Museum and the Apache Museum (by train).
