Door pin code to get in sometimes the buttons wouldn't register the presses, but once you learn the knack of it it's all good, just wait for the beep per button before the next one in the sequence.

Location was perfect, 2 minutes from the train and bus station at Takayama so you can get off the train and dump your luggage soon as to explore which is what we did! Staff less check in and the room was spotless. Bed was located up some bunk bed style ladders so if you're not that able bodied maybe look elsewhere if you struggle with things like that, but it was quite cosy up there!

We absolutely loved our stay at KAYA Takayama! The place feels like a warm hug – beautiful design, peaceful atmosphere, and such kind, welcoming staff. The only things we didn’t like were the pillows (a bit too thick for us).

The room was so spacious, everything was very clean, it was close to restaurants and main attractions in the town and the facilities in the room were excellent! We were so blown away when we first walked into the room. We loved how big the fridge was and that there was a sauna and huge bath to use. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

The location was perfect. Easy to reach from the station but in easy walking distance to restaurants and attractions. This meant we could do everything we wanted to do through a mix of walking and bus. The room was very comfortable and the bed was a perfect balance of hard and soft. The entire design of the space was slick and very cool.

To be honest, I was swayed by the photos; I expected to have that beautiful bathtub. Although my room was lovely, it didn't have one. As for the location, it was excellent—very close to the train station, so I could arrive and leave quickly and without any issues.

Stairs to the bed were a little awkward to use, but okay for us.

Really enjoyed this little apartment style room. We watched Suzeme on Neflix in the comfy seats. Location is great with parking opposite. The room was spotlessly clean, very good value. Staff also posted my forgotten electric toothbrush to collect in Tokyo. Excellent and friendly service, despite being self check in.

There was no heating in the bathroom, and it was a bit cold to take a shower when outside is 0 degrees.

Cute little apartment , staff let me add 3rd person to stay with us last minute. With an additional mattress for the living room. Location was perfect super close to everything

We concerned about the ladder/stairs and couldn’t use the bed upstairs. Instead we used the mattress and manchester downstairs. It was comfortable enough.

The bed is 2 single beds but I would prefer one king bed. No breakfest but it's not a big deal.

By far the best decision we made was to stay there during the winter. The perfect place to recharge after a few days in Tokyo. The tub and onsen were simply amazing. The room was spacious and had all the amenities anyone could need. Very close distance to the main station as well. Will book again for sure.

The washing machine is not in the room as advertised, no transparent window to look out.

We were in room 1, so basically heard every single person coming in and out of the place, including anyone going up and down the stairs. I could even hear it every time someone enters the passcode at the front door. The place also doesn’t get much natural sunlight so it can be quite dark if you don’t turn on the lights even during the day.

Convenient location - only a few minutes walk from Takayama station. Even though the place isn’t really big and spacious, it still manages to fit a sauna and a big bath in there, which was cool. Very relaxing. Very clean and also has quite a few amenities including cooking utensils and condiments.
