Only downside is the lack of common area to socialize. Especially as solo traveller. Wifi in room was bit slow. Some may find a single western shower not enough but haven't had any issue or had to wait.

Incredible location, meters away from gondola, ski hire and restaurants. Large and comfortable rooms with Japanese style sleeping. Free onsens and village are only a few minutes walk away. Private onsen in building. Breakfast was copious and cheap. Good dry room and plenty of storage for ski/ board.

Absolute best location, ski in and ski out with the main gondola right there. Lovely clean facilities with big dry room. I personally wouldn’t stay anywhere else when coming back to Nozawa Onsen.

Beautiful Japanese style, hot onsen for after skiiing, friendly and helpful hosts (English speaking helped us a lot). Location unbeatable. I do find sleeping on futons a little challenging after a day on the slopes (even doubled up on tatami ) but futons are to be expected in a traditional guesthouse and I would have been disappointed if had they provided western style beds. Definitely plan to stay again .

Must know how to get transport up to Lodge. Information centre kindly ordered a taxi for us - there are very few in the town. The ladder up to bed was a little nerve racking for the plus 50 year olds 🫣 Would love more information on how to locate the restaurants in the area.

Friendless of staff and owners, willingness to help for anything no matter how big or small. Location was brilliant.

Great location- right next to the chair lift, and the rental places which makes your ski/snowboarding trip super easy. Then just a 5/10 min walk into town for dinner, supplies, etc. Lovely staff, traditional facility- ie communal showers- but this made it more special. Very well maintained and clean. Would stay again.

Bedding was a bit basic but sufficient.

Location was fantastic. Dry room and storage was great and we enjoyed the beautiful onsen on site.

Unfortunately shower times were limited (4pm-9pm) ...which was a little inconvenient, specially after missing our Train and only arriving at the place at 10-11pm ...all sweaty from a long trip carrying all the luggages etc. Travelling with kids, with restricted shower times, wasnt ideal. I personally also tend to have a shower in the mornings, but this wasnt such a big of a deal, however it would have been nice to be able to have a shower on the last day before heading off to Tokyo.

Amazing location, right in front of Nagasaka Gondola which goes all the way up to where everybody spends their day Rooms were pretty spacious. We were 4adults + 2 kids and space for the luggages was not a problem !!

The beds and pillows were a little uncomfortable

Right across from the gondola so we could strap on our boards and hit the slopes. Had its own Onsen and breakfast included was great.

Didn't realise the showers were shared and in the onsen. Kids struggled with lack of privacy. This would not stop us coming again though.

Amazing location at the top of the village and right at the main gondola. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing value. We added it for 1000yen each. The rooms were big enough and warm. The lodge doesn't hold a lot of people so it was nice and quiet.

The staff were so nice, location is right next to the lifts and free snow taxi. Highly recommend the restaurant downstairs for breakfast and lunch!

The vending machine in the communal areas had some issues but that's not the hotel's fault. Shared toilet situation sucks a little bit but we know what we were getting in to

Room layout worked great for us. The loft setup may be a bit tricky for some people but helpful for splitting up a larger group. Top tier location

The location was great, being right across from the gondola! All of the staff were really nice and super helpful. Best thing was the hot bath after a day in the snow! We would definitely stay again!
