Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThis is UPHILL so beware of that AND, the hotel does not have an elevator. We were on the top floor which had a lovely view but we had to carry our suitcases up five flights of stairs so that was a bit challenging. If you are traveling lightly, it's nice. Also, note that it's not in the main part of town but it is near the station. Most recommended restaurants were a good 20-25 min walk away (also, many of them turned us away because they didn't want foreigners even though I speak Japanese). We did not experience this in any other city in Japan (and I lived there for 2+ years).
Loved the rooftop onsen. Loved the view. The beds were comfortable and the shower was nice, albeit small.

PeruBreakfast was only one option and a proper breakfast room with options or buffet would be a great improvement. Also just having stairs and no lift was challenging with small children.
Was a very clean hotel with helpful staff.

SingaporeI'm gonna give an honest review about this hotel so that people can make best judgment whether to stay here. Several issues to notice: 1. Although the hotel says it's 7mins walk from the station, it's far more than that time if you are bringing your luggage from the station and climb up to the hotel. 15mins minumum and very steep route. 2. The road from hotel to Atami station on a shared lane with cars and gets VERY DARK and scary at night (it's completely dark in Atami winter after 4:30pm). There is none public transportation and taxi are hard to call, so only way to get to train station or any stores is by foot through that dark little lane. 3. If you are carrying luggage, ANY luggage, avoid this hotel. The hotel is 1 floor higher than the main road, rooms are from 2nd floor and up. You will have to carry your suitcase with MINIMUM 3 FLOORS UP. The staff won't help you by even a little bit. "No service provided" is what they typed in google translate when I ask them to lend me a hand. 4. In the photo on Booking.com you see there is outdoor onsen and a balcony. None of that matches expectation. The porch swing is taken down, the outdoor balcony is full of smokers of all time so you can imagine the horrible smells lingering. The outdoor onsen was closed for the two days during my stay so I never got to use it. and staff didn't even bother to inform during checkin (they would still charge you onsen TAX btw) 5. The cleanness is very troubling. The room carpet is so dirty and with cigarette burns. The indoor onsen has dead bugs floating on the water. I even once saw a cockroach in the corridor 😨 please for the sake of your trip, try and find a better option than this horrible hotel.

JapanThe only complaints I had about my stay was the weather! And I don't think the staff could have done much about that.
Staff were excellent, highly responsive through the booking.com app, allowing us to order the shuttlebus from the station with ease. The private onsen was also wonderful, for about 3000 yen we could book a private family bath for 45 minutes. The public pools were a little smaller, but the rooftop had a really wonderful view
