The food was a little bit expensive. I thought there was going to be more beds and more space, while two of us have to use the mattres and slept on the floor, which I didn't expect.

I love the view outside the window. I saw a deer running in the woods from my house. I love the hot spring in the house, although I wish it could be larger.

On arriving at the property it looked derelict. The signage was terrible and we thought we’d been lured into a creepy horror film. Breakfast was average.

You need more staff that can speak English on each shift at the reception desk. Drive up & down the mountain was a bit much. Clearer signs where the reception building is.

Some of the buildings on the property look a little run down, but that didn't really bother us since our room was so nice.

The location and views of Mt. Fuji are amazing. We loved having our own onsen on our terrace. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the layout. We did ziplining at the property after the kids begged us to do it and it was a delight! The price was affordable and the zipline staff were incredibly helpful. We had a great experience during our stay.

We stayed at the new block and the room was awesome! Spacious and cleverly designed to create privacy but yet able to connect us to nature. The outdoor onsen pool is convenient for us to access at all times. We were able to spot deers and racoons from the balcony. The public onsen pool is a must visit as it comes with a huge indoor pool and an outdoor pool. We were lucky to have visited at a time whereby patrons were few, hence, we had the whole onsen to ourselves! Staffs were friendly and helpful!

Remote. Facilities and rooms are distributed across a large area. Restaurants are few and far apart, need to drive or use bus service or walk a considerable amount if you are not located within the same building. If weather is not ideal, that may be an issue. Restaurants try too hard to look fine dining, while they are simply not.

Enjoyed the facilities and especially the excellent hospitality and customer service! The evening manager was most helpful in assisting us with the police investigation of a minor incident about a mile below the resort. This was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The room was extremely clean and tastefully decorated. The hot springs on the balcony was really relaxing. Overall, it felt like a really luxurious stay, definitely worth the money we paid. We also did not have a car so had to use the shuttle in and out of shuzenji and this did not affect our experience as it is a great service. I would highly recommend this stay.

The resort complex looks a little tired, but we stayed in a refurbished suite so all good.

An amazing location, away from the tourists, this was relaxing. We had half-board and the dinner was very good. We are vegetarians and they made special menu for us (make sure you book ahead) and it was one of the best meals we have had. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The room we had was a garden room and the private onsen was beautiful, laying there watching the trees and birds, was relaxing.

The food was too expensive, not the best quality we had inJapan and you can only order a set menu. You have to book the dinner in advance. I recommend eating elsewhere. There are lot of nice little restaurants in the villages below. Breakfast was finished at 9.15. That’s too early when guests arrive from all over the world who might have a jet lag.

The views, the onsen on the balcony. It was so nice to sit there after a long day of sightseeing. It is a great location to explore the Izu peninsula from. Make sure to book the room with Mountain View. You will have an amazing view on Mount Fuji.

The room types were a little confusing. We had 3 rooms, 1 of it ended up to be at a different block. The blocks have 2 levels, both the rooms upstairs and downstairs have a flight stairs hence it is inconvenient for us — parents with 2 young kids — to carry the luggages & children up/down to the rooms. Check in/out is also a drive away from the blocks. Staffs were not very welcoming/friendly at check in/out. Not sure if it was due to language barrier. Not an issue for us as we didn’t need anything extra. Overall the rooms are comfy and clean, with enough space for our family. We set up the tatami beds for our kids which was great. Plenty of space for luggages and a baby stroller as well.

Communication before arrival could be more clear. I reached out to the hotel to learn about the check-in location since it is a large compound. Would be good if hotel can provide 'do not disturb' and 'make up room' signs for placing at the door so hotel guests can better manage housekeeping hours.

The room is spacious, well designed, comfortable, and the private onsen that comes with the room is an absolute bonus. The hotel is located away from the touristic areas, in a highly exclusive hill top with ample greenery. We visited during the cherry blossom season and the scenery is one of the best in the region.

Nothing, we loved every bit of our stay.

Location! This is a remote country club-style resort that is tucked on a mountain, away from the town. When you wake up, you’re surrounded by views on every side. Our room had a crystal clear view of Mt Fuji and the resort’s golf course. The remoteness of the location is compensated by the fact that the resort offers a free shuttle bus both inside the resort (from facility to facility) and to/from the resort and Shuzenji station. Really loved it, it felt like pure luxury to be away from everyone.

The hotel room was a distance from the hotel lobby, need to take shuttle bus to reach your room. The shuttle bus cannot accommodate big luggage bags.
