At the same time it’s super nice to be in a calm place, on the other hand you don’t have restaurants nearby, so it’s advisable to bring something to eat from the city or go to the convenience store nearby.

The hostel is in the middle of the calm neighborhood (almost in the woods), which for me was super cool. It’s near a bus station that comes from the main train station. And it’s the same bus line that goes to the lake. The hostel has its own onsen which is super nice. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Hakone.

We enjoyed our stay in this very nice and charming japanese style hostel with its own onsen. The staff was very nice and everything was very clean and well maintained. Especially the beautiful view when waking up in the morning was amazing.

As advertised, it's 15 min walk uphill & out of town. We walked there with 15kg cases in Summer and it was fine. Also note there's no kettle in the private rooms, it's in the common room.

I stayed in a private room with family. Great value for money, well equipped/clean facilities including onsen. Fantastic views off the balcony/out the window. Would recommend.

Upon arrival, our whole day coming from Osaka was rushed and stressed to make the 7:30pm check-in deadline. It would have been nice to have a flexible check-in time later in the evening (9pm) to avoid rushing, especially that staff lives on-site (call staff number when arrive). I crossed another guest arrive the next day exhausted and stressed to make the 7:30pm check-in time.

This onsen hostel was exceptional. We had a private ryokan room for 3 and the beds were very comfortable. The large living room was very welcoming and comfortable, with a splendid view and relaxing music that enhanced the ambiance. The outdoor onsen was amazing, relaxing, and very clean. The location was great because there was a bus stop closeby (although bus stops at around 5pm). We took a cab with our suitcases upon arrival (after bus service stopped) for about $10USD, which was worth it due to the steep incline. Overall, really a great place to stay with good value.

The bed capsule is very small, so maybe not the best for claustrophobic people The bus doesn’t go too often so otherwise you have to walk strongly uphill

It was very serene up in the mountains and secluded. The common area was comfy and had a few zones. Quite a spacious place. Great kitchen utilities for cooking. Only a short walk down hill to Main Street and bus/train line approx 10-15mins. Note: it is in a hill so it a bit of an incline getting back up. I took the bus on the way up upon arrival with my baggage but was manageable to walk on departure day.

This was my favourite hostel I stayed in after 3 weeks travelling Japan! Nice spacious common room with a beautiful view, great location walking distance to some of the best onsens in Hakone, friendly helpful staff, cozy sleeping pod, and little touches that make it feel elevated from a basic hostel. Highly recommend.

WiFi didn’t work in our room. The room got a little warm - A/C didn’t do a lot to help. We did sleep mostly well though!

Staff were so helpful and very friendly. Location was excellent! People staying there were also friendly. The Onsen was clean, excellent and open at convenient times. A lovely spot!
