Location is super close to the entrance of Oku-no-in and the town bus stop. Food was delicious (had an awesome veg curry), and the owner/staff was very friendly!

Amazing place to stay. Affordable, around the corner of Okinoin and a bus stop, clean, cosy and comfortable. The host welcomed us with a very detailed explanation of a map of the town and environment, which was really helpful. Breakfast and diner are optional which is nice, and tea, coffee and water are complimentary. Beds are remarkably spacious!

The capsule got a bit hot and stuffy in the night (but I did stay in the height of summer so may be fine at other times)

Beautiful guesthouse, very homely, communal feel. The owner is wonderful - extremely knowledgeable about the local area and so kind and helpful.

The owner was so lovely. He went into detail and provided a map of Koyasan with suggestions and top spots. The guesthouse was artsy and clean with vibey music. The homemade curry was outstanding! Great location right by Okunoin Cemetary where you could join the morning prayers with the monks. One of my fav stays in Japan.

The best of hospitality from the local resident Ryochi and his wife who cares for their guests and knows the area, speaks good English and can advise you about Kumano Kodo trail, connections and everything in the town. Great location next to the cemetery for the 6am service (definitely attend) and bus to Kumado and the town. Super clean cosy pods, tasty breakfast, nice vibes. Next to super tasty Japanese family restaurant. This place makes staying in Koyasan affordable and is great at it! I extended my stay and would return.

Of course it’s probably better to stay in a temple while in Koyasan, but this place is a perfect alternative for small budget solo travelers like me. The manager is super nice and gives great advice on what to visit around the area (he speaks English very well too so it’s easy to communicate), the place is clean and you can even lock the door of your capsule bed. I have met very nice people there too so I recommend 100%.

The location is ideal for visiting Okunoin for the morning prayer, and also if you're arriving by intercity bus. Ryochi, the owner, is a great fellow, genuinely interested in his guests. He also gives sound advice for things to do and places to eat in Koyasan. Stay here if you're not specifically looking for a temple stay.

Great hostel with very friendly staff and owner. Attentive and pleasant service, clean, very comfy bed and quiet place. Particularly liked that the bed cabin had a door which could be shut for extra privacy and noice cancellation. Really good breakfast as well for an extra 1000 yen was an added bonus. The owner also prepared a great local area map with some good tips of advice. The location was also excellent close to restaurants and Okunoin path to Kobo Daishi Mausoleum. Perfect for a night walk! Will stay again without hesitation.

It wasn’t a problem but it is located at the very end of Koyasan. However this is compensated for by its proximity to the amazing little Japanese restaurant which has great food at good prices.

The guesthouse is very cute, with cozy little bunk rooms. It’s not too big so there were no issues with using toilets and showers. The breakfast was delicious and the option to have dinner there is great. The hosts were friendly and helpful.

Great location near Okunoin for easy access. Amazing team of hosts, very clean, comfortable beds with small doors to your cubby rather than a curtain for additional privacy, hosts has great knowledge of the area and we’re accommodating. Overall a lovely cost experience and I wish I were staying longer!

No frills, but clean, comfortable and a nice atmosphere to connect with other travelers. The owner was super helpful and continued to communicate with me even after we had left to make sure we had made all our connections. We upgraded to a private room, but the capsules seemed pretty good. The capsules/compartments seemed to be about 4X4X8 (feet) It might be bigger, but it was enough room to sleep and store your things. Perfect for our one night stay

Couldn't have asked for more for the price I paid. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and allowed me to check in one hour before without any warning from my side. They spent quite some time with me explaining and giving advice on the area, with some really nice tips that even having prepared the trip beforehand I didn't know. They give you a very useful map to go around. Breakfast was really good, even more after waking up early to spend some time with the morning prayers at Okuno-in. That's the other thing, it's located so close to the cemetery that it allowed me to go on my own both at night and morning times just walking, without having to think about how to get there.

This was probably the best guesthouse I’ve stayed at! Ryochi is an amazing host, and the service is excellent. You also get the chance to see the morning prayers, even though you’re not staying in a temple. The breakfast is very tasty, and the location is great—it’s a bit far from the town center, but right next to the cemetery, making it a perfect spot to catch the sunrise.
