TurkeyA few minor rules being non-practical such as not being able to take the orange juice from the breakfast to the smoking area even if you’d take the glass back in 5 minutes. Our room had only 1 photo online and I think it deserves to be shown better, we got lucky to choose it
Decor was like a museum while you walked around the halls. The onsen in our room was amazing. The room decor was very japanese and the kimonos they gave us to use while we were there were the most comfortable kimonos I’ve tried. Entertainmant floor was a nice surprise. 11/10 would go again

Great location for having a tour in Kotohira. Rich breakfast. They offerred kinds of local specialties. I enjoyed the udon, mixed sallad, and Tofu very much. The onsen was refreshing and well maintained.

United StatesJapanese people are known for over-the-top politeness. Well that wasn't the case here. Maybe it as a language problem, but I found the male front desk staff to seem a little tired of foreigners, maybe. There are a ton of facilities, but this is a mega-hotel, without a doubt. There was even an entire middle school there the night that I was there. It's not a traditional Japanese inn. If the Kadan had been available during my visit, I might have chosen that.
Wonderful optional in-room rotenburo, excellent breakfast, many facilities. Beautiful decor and interesting art in many public areas.

United StatesKotosankaku looked charming in the pictures but it is really a behemoth covering several buildings and an eyesore in the neighborhood. Enormous, impersonal. High priced with little personal comforts. Buffet breakfast was good but very crowded. Kotohira was disappointing, overrun by tourists, souvenir shops, bit of a honky tonk. Except for the Shiseido lounge at about 600+ steps up the mountain - a welcome break for a great affogatto.
The best thing about Kotosankaku is the private open air onsen in the room with a great mountain view. Special praise for the front desk manager Kenji Tanaka who made us feel very welcome.

Car park is so big that allowed to stay my car after check out while Konpira shrine visit, also the free umbrella hire which is very solid and even able to use as the climbing stick. Close to the main gate of the shrine to walk up.
