I'm pretty sure one of the shower doors was broken and couldn't close securely which meant there was only one shower available. Luckily, it wasn't busy while I stayed so I didn't have to wait. There's only small lockers to secure valuables but no storage area for luggage, I stored mine under my bed (bottom bunk) and the bed sheet covered all around the bed so was hidden which I felt was safe enough for me.

Pleasant enough - had basic facilities to accomodate my stay. Staff were friendly. A short walk from the station and from AEON mall.

There was nowhere to properly store your luggage in the dorm rooms.

The welcome drink was nice and I got to meet some nice people. The staff were very nice.

You have to make your own bed when you arrive and remove the bed linnen after your stay. If you make guests do 80% of the cleaning, do you really need a six hour window between check in/out times? Also, sound-proofing is quite bad and air circulation isn’t that great.

Great cafe with a very nice vibe and great food/drink options, nice location close to the train station, good facilities for people staying in the dorm (full kitchen, microwave, fridge, etc)

If anything, the opening hours at the lobby are on the later side. I wanted to get out early, but I couldn't drop off my luggage at the counter because the open a bit later.

I loved the location, value and staff friendliness. The free drink at the bar was also a nice plus and I met some other people staying there while sitting at the bar.

Very little space in the 8 bed dorm rooms, often large bags are left in the walkway within the room from people staying on the top bunk. The bar itsself is overpriced.

Rooms were relatively clean, bathrooms were cleaned daily and were spotless as a result. Communal space was good for sitting down and chatting with others.

I stayed in the 4-bed dorm. The lower bunk has a very low headspace even for a short person like myself so I could not even sit inside. The mattress was satisfactory, but not very comfortable. The room stayed cool-ish with a/c and a fan, but the communal spaces are quite warm (and it is not summer yet).

Kamp is located 10-min from the train and 30-min walk from the garden. The downstairs bar had s very hip vibe. The staff/owner? Was friendly and offers a welcome drink. Upstairs is a little tight, but clean. Shower was great and there is a lot of information about the area. It was quieter than what I was expecting but maybe only half the beds were full.

Cheap laundry which was nice, although the dryer was slow. Luggage storage on check out day is weird as there is an hour between check out when the cafe opens to leave it, I just left it in the common space and had no issue. Close to train station.

There was a moldy smell to the showers and the kitchen wasn't the cleanest. The stairs to the rooms were super steep and the toilets were on the first floor only.

Good value, easy to get to, nice atmosphere and kind staff. The bed was soft and comfortable.

Private rooms are drywall partitions, so you might need earplugs if your neighbours are snoring.

It's best described as a bar/cafe that offers accommodation. You may be staying above the bar or in a separate building depending on the room you book.

Finally a hostel in Japan that has atmosphere. well designed place, nice kitchen, comfortable beds and space to sit with other travelers.

The bar and restaurant a bit flat and quiet. Food not great. Staff lovely but not helpful or knowledgeable about what's on in Okayama ...live music show etc. Word of warning... Take care with stairs in Annexe steep, deep and narrow...particularly if tall.....hold on to rail and don't drink too much!

Great place to stay. Sadly a bit flat when I arrived at the weekend. No music or atmosphere. Comfortable bed, clean. You are in the Annexe at the side of main building. Nice small social dining area( a bit drafty but hot air conditioner heats the place up) tea and toiletries provided. Washing machine, dryer, basic kitchen( kettle, hob, microwave, toaster grill, fridge) Excellent base for day trips Naoshima etc.

Friendly staff and really clean. Location is good too, close to Okayama station. And there is even a vegan bakery for more vegan goods around the corner (the hostel also has some vegan goods, but the bakery has other options).

I would have preferred if the dark blue linens were not dark blue as it made the room look darker and less cheerful. But this was rectified with the white linens which I really liked. It made the bed feel and look clean and brighter. I arrived after 7pm and part of the route from the station was through a somewhat dark alley. But this being Japan, I wasn't frightened.

Bed was clean with crisp white sheets and pillow case. It was very wide and the lower bunk bed had a high "ceiling" so it didn't feel cramped at all. Toilets and bathrooms were clean and convenient. Security lock on room door and main door made me feel very safe. The lounge was lively and has a cool vibe. Location was not far from Okayama Station. Overall, good value for money.

Sound proof..can hear people bangging doors at night and when people walk, the bed vibrate too..maybe it is due to the wooden platform
