Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesFantastic hotel with fantastic staff and fantastic location for a fantastic price! No other hotel compares! This is my favorite hotel of all time throughout my travels in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. My family stayed 6 nights in a giant room with 2 double beds, couch, coffee table, desk area, fridge/freezer and hallway to the commode and bathroom. The closet space was small, but the hooks in the hallway made up for it. The TV was also massive and we could log into our YouTube and Amazon Prime accounts to watch our own shows and movies. Not only was the space great, but the staff went above and beyond any other hotel I have ever stayed at. They always asked how we were doing, if we needed to borrow an umbrella for the weather, offered to exchange money for us and even took all of us and our 4 suitcases to the airport bus station when we checked out (they also took 2 of our suitcases straight inside to the check in area). They absolutely went above and beyond and I would stay here again anytime. Besides the room, other amenities include free drinks (soda, coffee, espresso, tea, cocoa, lattes and other options) in the very large hangout/dining area, use of serve ware (easy to grab a to go dinner at the metro station or Dotonbori and bring it back to eat), 8 massage chairs (we utitilized these multiple nights), pool table, small library, self serve laundry room (4 separate washer/dryer combo machines), and scales to measure luggage weight. The location was a dream being steps from Dotonbori and a metro station. We could easily get around Osaka from here and Expo 2025 was only 25 minutes away by metro.

NorwayOnly thing I missed was some “hand washing cloths” and sugar free sweetener at the bar.
Very convenient lication. Very nice staff. Drinks bar is excellent, aswell as having dinner tables and comfortable seating. Room was spacious, and finally a proper hairdryer. Staff drove us to the bus station, very much appreciated as we didn’t have to walk with the huge suitcases. If I am back in Osaka, I’ll definitely stay there again.

United StatesThe rooms are a bit dark with no real views (ours faced another building). Facilities are closer to a 3-star level, but the service is truly 5-star.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Shinsaibashi 88. From the very start, the staff was extremely accommodating. I had to send our luggage to the hotel ahead of our arrival and had several questions. Communication via WhatsApp was prompt and helpful, and they even confirmed when our luggage arrived. First Impressions When we first arrived, I was a little concerned about the location it wasn’t what we expected but it turned out to be perfectly fine. The area felt safe, and once we figured out the exits at Namba Station, getting there was easy. Room Upgrade & Comfort We are a family of five (kids aged 18, 14, and 9) and had booked a twin room (two beds and a sofa). To our surprise, upon check-in we were upgraded to a Family Suite (Room 701). This spacious room had: A separate bedroom with a king bed Another king bed in the living area A sofa that was converted into a full/queen-sized futon by staff A massage chair (a huge plus after long sightseeing days) For Osaka, the space was generous. We also loved the Dyson hair dryer and its full set of attachments. Daily Perks: Although we typically skip daily housekeeping, we appreciated the clean towels and bottled water that were left hanging on our door each day. Facilities: Coin laundry in the annex building (with more massage chairs so you can relax while you wait) Luggage scales for weighing before flights Free beverages, candy, lollipops Instant ramen station with bowls, hot water, and chopsticks Service The manager, Mr. Naoya Kojo, and his team went above and beyond. They helped answer all our area questions, assisted with paperwork for shipping our luggage to the airport, and on our departure day offered to drive us to Nankai Line so we didn’t have to walk 10–15 minutes with our bags. Location: Just a few blocks from Dotonbori, with 7-Eleven and Lawson convenience stores around the corner. Safe, lively, and convenient. Also about 10 min walk to Shinsaibashi area which was nice - lots of shopping.

Excellent location next to dotonburi but out of the craziness. The rooms are large with lots of thoughtful touches. United KingdomWe stayed at Hotel 88 Shinsaibashi for one night as we were breaking our journey between Kinosaki Onsen and Koya San and it was conveniently located by Namba station and reasonably priced. The room is simple, comfortable and clean and the staff were fantastic - they left us a sweet gift for our honeymoon and interceded to make sure we went to the correct Nama station to travel on to Koya San the next day, even giving us a lift there. Thank you!

IndiaNothing to Say. Everything was perfect.
The Location was perfect and nearby to local markets and metro station. The Staff were so attentive and so caring, we felt like home. Having travelled all over the world in different hotels but the hospitality here was at a different level. I had stayed here between 12th of June to 15th of June. Family of 3, we are a couple with a son who was wheelchair bound and the staff was extremely caring for our needs. Will definitely be on my stay list for any future visits to Osaka.

United StatesIt was nice to be able to do laundry, but the washing machines didn't clean very well (possibly low or out of detergent?) and the dryers took forever. Our clothes were still damp after 1 hour of drying. There was a persistent smell in our room's bathroom.
The staff were amazing and went out of their way to help us out, even insisting to personally walk with us along the best route to bring luggage to the train station. We took full advantage of the complimentary drinks and espresso machine in the lobby and ate our Family Mart purchased breakfast there every morning.

IndiaI loved everything
The staff was the highlight of the hotel. Always smiling and very helpful. We were taking the airport shuttle, whose pickup point was 15 15-minute walk from the hotel. The lady helping us with the checkout told us that the hotel would drop us off at the shuttle pickup location, and then followed up by accompanying us to the bus stop, guiding us through the maze of ticket vending machines, ATMs, and the bus boarding point. Without her help, we would have surely taken 20-30 minutes more. I was pleasantly shocked at this fantastic service. And besides this, the daily housekeeping was spot on, free coffee and other drinks in the lobby, laundromat (better than the one at Sheraton Grande), spacious rooms, a 65inch 4k TV in the room, the massage chairs which we used daily after our tiring days and just 4-5 mins walk to dotonbori street. I would surely stay here again.

We had a great time staying in this hotel. We stayed 4 nights as a big group of 13, including kids age 6 to 13. Booked 4 rooms. The hotel definitely exceeded our expectations. Location was close to Dotonbori, about less than 5 minutes walk. Halal food were abundant around the area, so it was easy for us. There were a few "adult" entertainment places around the area but no dodgy people outside the establishment. Pretty much just inside. It was not a big deal for us walking around with the kids. The staff were efficient, speaks english. So communication was good and easy. They have common area with free flow drink and utensils if you want to have your meal there. Plenty of massage chairs to use after a long day out. We love these facilities very much. Rooms were spacious. We can pack and re-pack our big bags with no problem. TV was equipped with netflix, so kids were not complaining. Plenty of hooks and hangers, small important details that this hotel seems to get it right. Communication prior to our arrival was good. They provided information on the nearest exit from the Namba station, both for elevator and stairs. It was just 3 minutes walk to the train station and several bus stations around. The location is really central, makes it easy to get around with any form of transportation. The hotel was very kind to help us deliver our bags to our kansai airport hotel on our last day. We had 14 bags altogether! It would have been nightmare to get it delivered via Yamato or any delivery method. So their help was very much appreciated. The hotel is top notch in terms of hospitality to their customers. Thank you Hotel88, we loved our stay at your hotel. Until next time!

This hotel exceeded my expectations. From check-in the team were so friendly and so accomodating. The room itself was incredibly large and even had a dyson hairdryer. The location is perfect and so convenient for exploring Dotonburi and there are many restaurants and supermarkets nearby. It's also conveniently located near Namba station - perfect after a long day of exploring. The hotel has a lovely lobby area, laundry facilities and even free massage chairs!
