Location was calm and quiet and not too far from stations. The beds were a little awkward if you got the top bunck but it was fine. Very private and clean.

Everything was great and it takes about 20min by walk and you're at Dotonbori area. I don't really understand the complaints about the mattresses. If you prefer a harder underground then you'll survive them without troubles.

The location was a little far from anywhere. The breakfast was very basic, but easy to add your own extras with the kitchen. The bicycles were a bit on the old side - they need a bit of love.

The hostel felt homely, and welcoming. The dorms were pretty quiet and respectful of other people. The staff were really nice and happy to chat. The bicycles were great to use and really opened up the city.

It’s a nice architecture, bed was not super comfy. Sweet people visit this hostel- mostly Americans. Additional stuff need to be requested. And you need to make your own bed- i mean to put sheets on when you come

This hostel is amazing! The location is great, you can walk to most of the tourist spots or take the metro, which is less than a 10-minute walk away. Everything is super clean, and the hostel itself is really beautiful, with plenty of showers and toilets. And lots of mirrors!! But what I loved the most about this hostel was the staff and the walls full of information! The staff are incredibly helpful — whether it’s finding places nearby or figuring out what to do. Every day, there was a board with nice informations: restaurant recommendations, local summer festivals, and even some Japanese phrases for you to learn. So incredible!

Its cleanness is wonderful. From bed to toilet to shower room, it is Japanese standards of cleanness. WiFi is good. It also provides some light breakfast. It has cook and utensils to do it by yourself.

Sharing room with smelly clothes of other guest, had to open windows. Long walks to nearest stations. Absence of secure storage and crammed laydown area for suitcase.

The Hostel is a wonderful place to stay in Osaka. Its location is not far from the subway station, and I'm impressed with the cleaning and facilities. It has a large shared living room in the lobby. Free tea, coffee, and toast in the morning. Everything is good except my noisy roommate who sleeps on the upper bunk.

Lack of ventilation to cool the bed space. A mini portable fan saved me, but a small bed side fan would be great in summer. But would be good for winters. Also the ladders were bit awkward to get down

The only drawbacks are that the placement of the washbasins does not allow for privacy and are not separated by gender. Secondly, the staff at reception are often louder than all the guests in the common room. More consideration could be shown here.

Short stay, I should have stayed longer

I had a pleasant and comfortable stay at Mitsuwaya Hostel in Osaka. The location is quite convenient for me, making it easy to explore the city. The staff were consistently polite and friendly, contributing to a welcoming environment throughout my stay. The hostel facilities were well-maintained, with clean bathrooms and all the essentials provided for a smooth experience. The common areas offered a relaxing space to unwind, and the overall atmosphere was outstanding—especially thanks to the interactions with fellow guests, which added a sense of community to the experience. Overall, Mitsuwaya Hostel provided a solid and enjoyable stay. I would recommend it to travelers looking for a clean, sociable, and conveniently located accommodation in Osaka

The door locks were noisy as they make a sound when opened and closed.

The mattresses are very thin and soft. You could feel the wooden floor through it. Luckily the staff offered an extra mattress!

The common area and breakfast were very cozy. It was easy to start a chat with fellow travellers and to chill by yourself if need be.

Hard to fault it but the stairs up to the bunk beds were tricky to manage. Just be careful.

This was my favourite place we stayed in Japan. It’s so clean. The atmosphere is really calm & relaxing. The common area is a lovely place to chill. The beds were comfortable, so handy to have a washing machine & dryer there too. It’s really good location. Coffee & tea available all day & toast for breakfast was lovely. They had this dryers to dry wet trainers too! Highly recommend.
