The facilities were gorgeous. The host is very welcoming. The private hot spring with the river view is UNREAL. I wanted to stay much longer than one night. There are so many nice touches throughout, like the free speaker, rental bikes, tea, snacks, and candles. The breakfast was delicious!!! Overall, this sleek and stylish guesthouse is a hidden gem and perfect getaway.

There was a family with a crying newborn and toddler running around that stayed at the guesthouse who blasted loud children’s music at the hot spring and were pretty noisy. This is no fault of the host, but I think it would benefit him to set an age limit on Booking, given the peaceful and relaxing vibes of the guesthouse. He did try to keep the family separate from other guests, so I appreciated that! Also, I was a little surprised at how uncomfortable and dirty the bedding was, given how upscale other decor was.

The host was incredibly accommodating. He asked what kind of activities we were interested in and helped us plan a great route. He was also very helpful in offering assistance with renting bikes and even provided a list of local restaurants. Overall, just a fantastic experience!

The scenic view from the private onsen was amazing. Breakfast was also really good, simple but tasty.

The wooden flooring instead of tatamis under futons made it quite hard on the back.

Wow. Our two nights at Hoo!Hoo! were a highlight of our trip to Japan. It is a classy, comfortable, and serene place to stay. The host Kato was really lovely and went out of his way for us. There are great nature walks to do in the area, and the private Onsen bath was outstanding. We would recommend this place to everyone, it's amazing. Thank you for having us!

Awesome stay. Kudos to the owner. Attention to detail was incredible.

No easy food around, but it's manageable.

It is an excellent place to escape the cities and enjoy calm mountain views. Mr Kato was welcoming and helpful and even gave us a ride to Shinshiro, as we were planning to go there by train, and he was going there anyway. Also, he has Excellent English, so he has no issues communicating with foreigners. Surrounded by several hiking trails to the beautiful mountains (not to say that location near the river by itself is terrific) Definitely worth it's its money. (The local train station has no IC card terminal, so be careful)

The property was amazing, picturesque views, really close to the train station. The host was amazing, really helpful and happy to chat. We were there for OSJ Shinshiro and he was really helpful with getting organised for the run and the morning of as well as being understanding about the soreness the following day. Would absolutely recommend.

Beautiful property, with stylish private onsens and fantastic scenery. The host was very helpful and kind and we shared Japanese whisky and conversation. Perfect!

Unluckily we were there on one day of the week where there were no local restaurants and so we had to drive to one recommended 20 minutes away, but that was also a wonderful experience.

Kato-san (the owner) was really welcoming and friendly, super accommodating and his english is perfect. The stay has beautiful views of the river and is so peaceful as well. Highly recommended! One thing tho, if youre going to be staying here for a few days i would recommend renting a car, the train schedule here is quite infrequent and hard to get around without a car. I learnt this the hard way :')

Hoo!Hoo! was immaculately clean with absolutely gorgeous views of the river behind! The baths were incredibly relaxing and getting to sit in the river in chairs was incredibly refreshing.

Food options are a bit limited if you don’t have a car, but still very doable.
