Hotel did provide pick up service from bus terminal which is an advantage. Staff san was helpful. You can enjoy free onsen in other 7 hotels, just let the receptionist know you are hotel guest.

AustraliaThe only improvement would be to have some dining equipment (cups, plates, bowls, utensils) available in the individual rooms - for those who don't wish to eat in the communal area all the time.
Great location, only a short walk to the chair lifts and restaurants. The facilities were great, everything you needed was available in the communal area, and the staff was always available to help when required. The access and options for the onsen were amazing.

Location - It is close to the gondola and there is a restaurant next door. About a 5 min walk to the main street with more options Staff - were friendly and helpful - they also provide a small discount for ski passes and rentals Room size - we booked a family room with a private bathroom and there was plenty of space - setup traditional japanese style (tatami mats)

The location was good, and was scenic as it was situated right beside a river. The Onsen was very good as it had many facilities such as a sauna and cold pool. The rotemburo had a good view of the hillside and the trees.

United KingdomWhat a great spot to stay in Zao Onsen, with access to 3 onsens in the hotel and then free access to another 6 around the town we had a great time relaxing here. The onsen facilities in the hotel were well looked after and when we went they weren’t too busy which was a bonus! The room was spacious with comfortable beds ands sufficient heating even in snowy December. The hotel in general was a bit dated, the communal area was sometimes a little cold due to being so close to the front door but we enjoyed having breakfast there in the mornings looking onto the snowy landscape outside. I think I would have struggled to cook in the kitchen provided as it was quite small and limited. But there are great spots to eat out close by - we particularly enjoyed the burgers next door at Scole, yes we know its sacrilege to have burgers in Japan but they were just so good we had to go twice!

IsraelWe got here off season to enjoy the Onsen. Because of that and the fact the the hotel does not offer any food, it was pretty hard finding anything. The hotel's facilities are somewhat old but are managed ok, this is mainly seen in the Outdoors Onsen which is very small and feels like you are in someone's backyard and in the room. The room is authentic but has a very old vibe to it, So come here only if you are expecting an authentic experience. In summary, the price is great for what you get, do come here, but know what for!

AustraliaNo availability of breakfast options in house. Meant we had to make alternative arrangements. It's a small inconvenience but it's much nicer being able to have breakfast at your own accommodation. Would have preferred a ski storage room within the actual building for better security of gear (they have an external site shed type arrangement), however Japan has a really low crime rate so probably not a big deal once you accept that.
