This place had a fantastic, serene vibe and is a great place to stay to visit the town and beach area. The common room/area is very relaxing, and also contains the showers. The man who greeted us was very quick to get there from wherever he lives, and gave us a great intro to the place, cold water to drink (it was a hot day in July), and then chatted with us about our vacation, where we lived, etc. A very good soul in a good place in his life. He gave us meal suggestions and other local advice. The woman who was there when we checked out was also very kind and talkative.

Nice place, very clean. Host gave us recommendations what to see/eat in Kamakura. Place was around 10 min walking from the station and very close to the supermarket.

The staff is very friendly, the place is beautiful and so clean. We needed to book an extra day because of an emergency, and they help us and the staff was very attentive.

Everything was incredible. After traveling for two months, this place felt like a retreat. An impressive feat for a dormitory. I had some of the most peaceful mornings in my life here. Staff doesn’t come till later in the day, so I felt like I had a whole traditional dining area to myself to drink the free coffee and just enjoy the tatami mats. If I ever come back to Kamakura, I would never stay anywhere else. Staff was so accommodating, everything was clean, water was nice and hot.

I had such a pleasant experience at this guesthouse! Hire was welcoming and super helpful. The place itself is a traditional guesthouse - the beds are on wooden bases and the mattresses a bit flatter than European standards. This was part of the charm so I have no complaints at all (and my back is in better condition then when I arrived!!). I was also given a free towel to use whilst there. The guesthouse location is a quick 10 minute walk to Hase station and right by the beach. I enjoyed this part a lot. The showers and facilities were great, everything was super clean and tidy (daily cleaning). There was access to filtered hot and cold water, and green tea and coffee whenever you wanted it. There’s also a Lawsons convenience shop 5 minutes away which was quite literally convenient. I would definitely recommend this place as a solo traveller or with others, and will definitely come back!
