Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaSasa is the owner/host and is unbelievably accomodating. The lodge is extremely comfortable. Sasa also provides a shuttle service to the local Myoko resorts. Approx 10 minute walk to Akakura Kanko, which is really convenient and 20 minute walk to the restaurants and convenience stores.

AustraliaI do not have any criticisms whatsoever, Sasa was a phenomenal host of Guest House Bunk!
Sasa was a phenomenal host and I will be staying here again if traveling to Myoko. The shuttle service was amazing and Sasa was happy to drop off and Pickup to all of the local ski resorts and into town of a night. The common area was great and a good place to meet all of the people staying at the lodge. The rooms were comfortable and temperature control was simple. The breakfast was phenomenal! We did not park but a number of guests parked right out the front.

AustraliaThe walk into town is atleast 10/15mins, but faster when walking home. Sasa was always happy to drive us to the resorts though.
Sasa was an amazing host! He was so accommodating driving you to and from wherever you needed to go. The room was large and comfortable beds! Shower & onsen/bath was so nice, clean and hot. There’s also a washing machine and dryer. The drying room for ski gear was so good, and a massive basement for storage of boards. We’re definitely coming back! Thanks Sasa

New ZealandA Perfect Stay at The Bunk House – Amazing Host & Epic Snow! I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Bunk House in Myoko, and it was nothing short of fantastic! From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The accommodations were cozy, clean, and perfect for a ski trip. The common areas had a great vibe—ideal for relaxing after a long day on the slopes. But what really made this stay exceptional was the host—super helpful, incredibly knowledgeable about the area, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure everyone had a great experience. And then there’s the snow—Myoko delivered some of the best conditions I’ve ever skied in! Deep powder, endless terrain, and easy access to the slopes made every day an adventure. If you’re looking for an awesome place to stay in Myoko with a fantastic host and world-class snow, The Bunk House is the place to be. Can’t wait to come back!

AustraliaNothing we disliked. Everything was great!
Sasa and the Guest House Bunk team are wonderful and fantastic hosts! They took great care of us throughout our stay. A very comfortable stay for 3 adults. The facilities are clean and accessible. The food and beers were great, too. Great location right near town and super close to the Akakura ski resorts. We had a hire car, so the remaining ski resorts were just a short drive away. Plenty of parking out front for us. Sasa also offered to take us where needed close by when driving conditions weren’t that great. Could not recommend Guest House Bunk enough! Thank you so much Sasa and the Guest House Bunk team :)

AustraliaWalk back from the village at night can be slippery but fortunately the road is not busy. We opted to stay in one stormy night and Sasa cooked a delicious meal for us.
We loved staying at Guest House Bunk. Sasa was so helpful with lifts to/from the ski fields and to dinner in the village. Rooms were great size, cozy and spotless. It was a nice atmosphere in the lounge room with the fire going and great music playing. We will definitely stay again!

SingaporeHost only understand limited English hence hard to communicate and have misunderstanding. He asked if we wanted breakfast and I saw from review that it is reasonable hence said okay and forgot to ask for price. but ended up it cost us 10,000 yen PER DAY for 2A + 3C for the breakfast .we paid 20,000 yen for 2 days. Breakfast was just salad, juices, bread and eggs, yogurt, NO MEAT for the first day, second day at least there were mini sausages. But otherwise no real meat. We have never spent 10,000 yen as a family to eat even if we ate beef grilling/local restaurant + beers but breakfast with just bread, yogurt and eggs don't make sense to cost 10k/ day. Don't recommend to take up breakfast. Or at least ask for the price beforehand. Also, don't recommend you to bring alot of luggages/heavy items during winter time as covered by snow and host doesn't help you to carry them in. Need to carry up stairs at the entrance too. For the price, better off to book at ski resort hotels since they provide shuttle to the ski resorts and also there are more amenities there. Floors creaks as well, we were walking on egg shell as we were worried that we were too loud as the floor seems pretty thin.
Host is very nice. There was a fallen tree on the train track hence we couldn't take the local train to myoko kogen, he had to come to the last train stop we could go at Ari (4 stops before myoko kogen) to pick us up. No extra cost in doing so and extremely responsive. He gave us some information and recommendations on request. House is beautiful with the winter snow but staircase at the entrance to the house can slippery when it turned to ice. For the room I have booked, quite alot of space to open your luggages thou. Toilet are extremely clean and well maintained. Comfortable stay.

AustraliaIt is about a 1-kilometre walk to the Akakura Kanko gondola, and you are walking on the road for most of it.
Sasa, the host, was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and quiet, and western-style beds were very comfortable. The paid breakfast was all-encompassing and well-prepared. Amenities were clean and well-maintained. There was adequate Ski storage.
