Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Saudi ArabiaOld dated hotel
We came to just sleep here. It is inside the city with a little view of Mount Fuji. Go to chapel at highest floor, It has good view of Mount Fuji. Room and bath are spacious, but dated. The room is comfortable to sleep, but no view. The room keys are traditional and you have to leave them at reception😂, Why?????.

United StatesIt was honestly great—I would not change a thing!
This is a really nice hotel—the rooms are big and the bathroom is huge! The breakfast was really lovely—a multi-course feast with excellent service. They really made us feel special. The town of Fuji is extremely quiet and industrial, with not much to do/see, but this place is a gem!

ColombiaMy stay at the Grand Hotel Fuji was, without a doubt, the highlight of my entire trip to Japan. The service was impeccable, the rooms were spacious, spotless, and incredibly comfortable but what truly took my breath away was the stunning view of Mount Fuji from my room. Waking up to such a majestic sight each morning felt surreal. I stayed at several hotels throughout Japan, but none came close to the unforgettable experience I had here. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Fuji area. It truly exceeded all expectations.

MalaysiaOnly 2 choices for set breakfast. Either western or Japanese. If you stay there for a few nights, you’ll get sick of it. And there are so many items in the set. Can’t finish. Food wasted. Would prefer buffet breakfast where you can just take what you want to eat, and also the amount that you want to eat.
Room is big. Staff is polite. Very comfortable stay. There is a special fridge that you can deodorise your clothes, especially if you’ve been wearing the same jacket daily. Lots of parking.

AustraliaThe hotel itself is a bit out of the way but easy enough to catch a taxi or walk to the station to catch a bus to the busier Shin Fuji station. The restaurant was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a little dated but quite roomy.

United StatesI should have arranged transportation back to the hotel before we left one day, probably by finding a taxi phone number and making sure that I could make a successful phone call to them. Or checking to see if Uber or Lyft are available. We went to a sports park near the ocean and could not get a ride back - we called the hotel and got a Taxi phone number but that didn't work. I wish I had thought of using Uber or Lyft, but didn't. This was not the hotel's fault, but I wish they had a shuttle van available for such events, or perhaps could pro-actively provide some transportation info for English speaking guests. I know that this is asking alot, but we were at the end of our trip and just getting a little tired of trying to translate all the guest literature using google translate, so there might have been transportation info in there, we just didn't see it. Again, like I said, not the hotel's fault, but the area is a bit more difficult to get around then say Tokyo.
Breakfast was tasty and beautiful, served by the most attentive staff! We did have half our party opt for the western breakfast and it was presented as beautifully as the Japanese. The table setting and china were gorgeous. One of the staff kindly showed us the viewing room upstairs, next to the wedding chapel, so we could see where Mt Fuji can be seen on a clear day. The desserts at the bar area during the day were so beautiful, they were elegant! So nice of the hotel to provide the clear umbrellas. They even had a large rack for collecting everyone's umbrellas outside, and you just left yours there, and came to get it the next time that you went out. There were so many amenities in the rooms - the robes were so comfortable that I slept in it one night. Slippers, towels, etc - plenty of them and refills! The beds were very comfortable. The clothes steamer was unusual, interesting - we did not use it because we had brought lots of rain gear with us.
