Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandIt was very hard to find. Look up for their neon sign. The door is not well light, which makes it hard to find.
The accommodation was okay. It was handy to the trains.

AustraliaThe only thing that I disliked was the red lightening for the rooms.
We decided to save money by purchasing one of the more cheaper hotel rooms in Shibuya and honestly, It met my expectations. The receptionists are lovely, the facilities are good, the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The location is quite for the area but also within easy walking distance to the Shibuya Scramble and all the shopping.

United StatesIt's not that I didn't like it but a little room to put your suitcases would have been great
Even though the room was small, the bathroom area was spacious and modern.

AustraliaThe beds weren't the comfiest, could do with an upgrade. Walls a little thin, could hear neighbours coming/going late at night, early morn which disrupted our sleep a bit. We had no trouble but access could be an issue as the hotel is situated on a street with a steep incline, just a warning.
Our first time visiting Tokyo, we found the hotel location fantastic. Tucked away in a quiet street behind the Shibuya train station and all the city chaos, we felt very well connected to everything we needed yet it was nice and quiet whenever we went home each day. A short walk to bus stations also which was very helpful as we used these for a day trip and transport to Haneda airport. The hotel is small and comfortable, the rooms were an ok size. The bathrooms were really spacious (a pleasant surprise). We stayed in 2 other hotels during our stay and this place had the biggest bathroom areas by far. The shower, toilet and vanity were all separate which made logistics easy. Fantastic restaurants, bakeries and convenience stores within walking distance. Staff very helpful and friendly. We would stay here again, but hope they upgrade the beds.

AustraliaIf I have to be picky, the room was slightly dated, though it didn't matter, it was clean and presented well.
The Location was fantastic in relation to Shibuya Station, food and shopping, the size of the room was generous and the staff were exceptional.

SwedenWe left very early in the morning and the staff was a bit rude when we were checking out. I asked if our taxi was on the way, that had been ordered the night before, but he refused to answer. A shame since this was our last impression of the wonderful city of Tokyo. I was a bit surprised since the staff at this hotel has always been very helpful.
I often stay at this hotel when I am in Tokyo. The location, close to Shibuya station, is great - close to shopping, restaurants and bars but still in a calm and quiet area. The rooms are nice and comfortable, althoug small. Friendly, english speaking staff.

AustraliaRoom was extremely small as expected for Tokyo, was very difficult to get around the room with suitcase opened and had to step over it constantly. Although hotel location is close to station it was quite difficult to navigate accomodation initially due to all the different exits and one of the main ways to reach hotel is to cross the bridge with many steps so not ideal with heavy luggage
Hotel was close to Shibuya Station making it very convenient to explore. Staff were kind and helpful throughout stay.

Although the rooms are your typical small size, the location is what you're paying for. Granbell is near a major train station and many local restaurants and shopping. The staff are friendly and are able to hold your luggage before and after you check out.

AustraliaTIP: FROM SHIBUYA STATION - EXIT AT HACHIKO EXIT THEN NAVIGATE FROM THERE - it was super confusing trying to get to the hotel when we were still inside the station. There are really mixed reviews About this place depending on the room you stay in. Our room was in the annex side and it was absolutely no frills, just basics which was all we needed. It was an older room so it could do with a bathroom redo but if you’re only here for a few days don’t get too bothered by the reviews - the location is so good and easy to navigate, for the price you’re paying in Shibuya it’s worth it!
