Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdomthe futons were super thin and very smelly toilets(thats to be expected i know because there is no plumbing but it still smelled awful) - still better toilets than some higher stations though it is pretty low(2780m) so a lot of walking to the summit compared to some higher accommodations
beautiful view and the accommodation is a lot more private than the higher stations , they also provide free earbuds for the noise the staff was also very nice and i enjoyed the food

AustraliaIt was horrible weather when we went and they are super strict about you coming inside when wet. Makes sense cause things take so long to dry but I thought they could’ve been a bit more understanding and helpful when it came to drying out or clothes. They don’t have much in terms of facilities and almost seemed underprepared for climbers coming in during bad weather so I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here if the weather forecast is bad. When I did my climb I noticed that nearly all the huts at each station were like this as well and not very friendly or accommodating, kind of forcing us to have to wait outside in the rain and cold while we rested during the climb. The hut on the 9th station was by far the most friendly and welcoming so honestly I’d recommend people stay there rather than here. However it’s quite the climb up to the 9th so this accommodation does offer an easier place to reach to for those who aren’t planning to climb to the summit. And the bed was horrible! Not that I expect much but easily the most uncomfortable sleep of my life so something to keep in mind before booking.
The food was amazing! We didn’t order a meal plan with our accommodation so was worried they wouldn’t serve us any food once there, but they still let us order some food as they were dishing it up. Great selection of food and was super impressed with it! Also pretty cool to be staying on the mountain so that was a cool experience in itself.

GermanyFuton was very thin.
Friendly staff and good dinner (special dinner as well, because I'm a vegetarian). Good place to stay to reach the summit before sunrise (we got up at midnight and left around 00:30 and were there before the summit and took a break on the 9th station on the way up).

SlovakiaA personal shocker to me was the staff check in and everything was smooth but on the way down when I wanted to use the toilet I was hit by "you already checked out you cannot use the toilet key" which honestly would be fair if it was some kind of grand hotel but I never ever experienced a mountain hut deny toilet access to its customer that left for ascend about 6-7 hours ago (mind you I was back at 7th station at around 8am) to me thats lacking a human decency and is a reason why I will never stay in this mountain hut nor recommend it to anyone
Basic mountain hut, was not expecting anything fancy. Good place to stay the night and give your body some time to adjust since its just shy off 3000meters altitude

NetherlandsAt 3:30 AM, near the summit, my friend and I were caught in a heavy sudden storm. We decided to run back to the new 7th station to dry off before making a second attempt. When we finally returned around 5:00 AM, we were told we couldn’t come back inside. When I asked why, we were informed that it was because we had already checked out. This establishment’s lack of basic humanity is disheartening. A couple of days later, both my friend and I are now ill, and we never made it to the summit. I’ve summited various mountains, and while the facilities here are adequate for mountaineering—especially if you’re accustomed to sleeping on futons and aren’t too sensitive to noise—I’ve never encountered such a lack of compassion on a trek like this. The staff strictly adheres to their duties but offers no support beyond that. You’re completely on your own, even after paying a substantial amount for your stay. I would recommend avoiding this place. Instead, consider climbing Mount Fuji in a single day—it’s manageable as long as the weather holds.

AustraliaAs a lower station you do have to get up earlier and hike longer on day 2 than some of the other options
It's a hut on mount Fuji, kinda a once in a lifetime thing. And 150 dollars for two people is pretty great. Food was tasty, it was warm inside, the mood was great, and the beds weren't too bad. Much more comfortable and private than the higher stations
