Comfortable and clean with a traditional flavor, a small family run business in a pretty location. Taki and Kimi are very friendly and helpful and provided a shuttle to the slopes, restaurants etc.

Missing a couple of cooking utensils but can easily make do without them. Turns out you don’t need to cook anyway with the meals the hosts prepare which are amazing.

Staff were amazing and the pension is so clean and neat. Great common area and the meals that you can have cooked by the staff was amazing.

Nothing to fault about the accommodation. Newly renovated and clean. Just be aware Madarao is not very walkable in winter so it did feel quite isolated (but we liked that).

Wonderful lodge style apartment run by a lovely Japanese couple. We had a lovely view overlooking the valley and mountains. Do take advantage of the restaurant as the owners are fantastic cooks. Except for a few nights, we organised both breakfast and dinner and were so pleased that we did as it made for a very relaxing ski holiday. This was our first time skiing in Japan (although experienced skiers), and our host, Takeshi was so obliging driving us to and from the slopes and helping us with any questions.

Unfortunately, despite being inundated with snow, It's not ski-in and ski-out, and not really within walking distance of slopes either if you have any gear to haul or are wearing ski boots. Fortunately, Takeshi is on hand to shuttle you!

The owner Takeshi does everything for you like a concierge service. He'll drive you to ski slopes and pick you up and organise lift passes too. Amazing service. Room was warm and clean with a comfortable bathroom and well equipped kitchenette. The view was amazing!

Everything. Taki was very accomodating, even met us on arrival at 2am! Apartment was spacious, very clean and warm. He supplied daily breakfast and dinner when we requested, great food and service from the bar. Cosy communal lounge room with fire place to relax in. Easy to communicate with and daily drop off and pick up from ski fields. Couldn’t have asked for anything else.

Fujio isn’t walking distance to the ski fields however Taki dropped us off and picked us up everyday making it all very easy.

The property was very clean and spacious. The meals were delicious and Taki was always available to answer our questions.

Everything….the 2 bedroom apartment was modern, clean and had plenty of space for a family of four! The view out of the window was just spectacular! Hosts were amazing - so incredibly helpful and generous! Loved the convenience of having the hosts drop you door to door from apartment to anywhere in madarao you wanted to go! Literally call them when you want to go somewhere, even the ski slopes and they are there straight way to take you! Exceptional service, facilities and value for money!

Takeshi and Kimie were fantastic hosts. The apartment was modern, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was fantastic, as was the Sukiyaki Pod and Pork Shabu Shabu available for dinner. Transport was provided to and from the ski slopes whenever we needed, as well as to and from other restaurants around the resort when we wanted to have dinner elsewhere.

The only thing we didnt like was having to leave

Takeshi and Kimi are exceptional hosts who are by far the best we have ever experienced. Takeshi is always available to take you to your destination, whether skiing or a restaurant ,and pick you up to return. The meals provided by Kimi are fabulous and the Shabu Shabu was the highlight of our dining. The food was so good we ate in each night. The hot tub at the end of a day skiing was so relaxing We had a number of problems arise such as the Shinkansen being cancelled, losing a back pack etc and Takeshi went to unbelievable efforts to sort out our problems.

The house is beautiful, with stunningly renovated rooms, an incredible view and excellent facilities (i.e. restaurant, hot baths, shuttle service). The location is convenient for access to the Madarao mountain slopes and nice local restaurants/bars.
