Convenient location. Great rooms and sleeping arrangements especially for a family with children. Laundry facilities were much appreciated. Clean and modern. Highly recommend.

Great value very close to public transportation / train and bus stations and the Family Mart to buy. This was a great home base for visiting the sites in the area. Safe area and spacious rooms with plenty of beds plus kitchen and living area with couches, chairs and coffee table. Staff was welcoming and helpful.

Use of too much digitalisation, the QR code for the room had issues and was not able to work. Staff did rectify it rather quickly Carpark is a short distance and not directly at the hotel Breakfast was basic, could have bought something similar or better from 7 Eleven

While the staff were helpful and kind in their actions, I did notice they could be a bit reserved and less smiley, which might come across as less friendly at first. However, this did not detract from their willingness to assist, and I believe a warmer demeanor could make the experience even more exceptional.

My stay at FAV LUX Hida Takayama was truly delightful. The location is a major highlight—being so close to both Takayama Train Station and the Nohi Bus Center made it incredibly convenient to explore the area, whether by walking or taking the bus. There’s even a minimart just a 1-minute walk in front of the hotel, which was perfect for grabbing quick essentials. The room itself was a haven of comfort. The bed was comfortable enough for a restful sleep, and despite the proximity to the train station, the room was surprisingly quiet, allowing for peaceful nights. The scenery from the window was absolutely breathtaking, offering stunning views that made every morning special. Another bonus was the easy access to the charming Old Street, which was just a short walk away, letting us soak in the historic beauty of Takayama at our leisure. Overall, I highly recommend FAV LUX Hida Takayama for its unbeatable location, comfortable accommodations, and beautiful surroundings. It’s a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Takayama, and I would definitely stay here again!

Sound proof needs improvement. Some stain spots were found on the sofa and carpet.

Well equipped kitchenette and the best bed. Using QR code instead of key cards is a thumbs-up.

Typical Japanese style family room with bunk style beds and no actual bedrooms although this setup allowed for a little separation/privacy.

The property is basically directed beside both the train and bus stations which was so convenient when travelling as a group with smaller children and luggage. Room was well equipped and laid out. Very modern style accommodation. Easy access to town and all facilities. Convenience store in close walking distance. Coffee shop located in lobby. Staff were very helpful.

We had thought the sauna/bath in the photos was a public bath, but it was actually a private sauna you could rent out. It was really expensive so we didn't go for it, unfortunately.

Location was convenient, and room size was huge! We had a double bunk room and it was really big for our family of four. Convenient to have a kitchenette, lounge setting, and so much space after being in Tokyo :) Location was really great. Our kids just wanted to spend our whole time in Takayama in the hotel to play in the bunk beds :p

The staff wasn't as friendly as at our other hotels in Japan. We arrived 20 minutes before check in and had to sit in the lobby until check-in time, which I get, you need to follow the rules, but just seemed arbitrary. Also they couldn't accommodate a request for an extra blanket. But I would stay here again, great accommodation for the price.

Great location right near the train and bus stations (which you need if you're doing day trips out of Takayama), plus walkable to all the Takayama sights. Very clean and bright. Beds and pillows comfortable. Fit our family of 6 fine and didn't seem too crowded, (but not much room for luggage for 6) though we didn't stay in the hotel a lot. You did have to juggle the one bathroom. It doesn't include breakfast but there is a nearby hotel/restaurant (Country Hotel) where you can purchase a breakfast buffet for 1000 yen. Make sure to try the Hida yogurt there it's so good.

Rooms are only cleaned every four days.....that is no longer acceptable in post-covid times.

New and modern accommodation, well equipped. Had a little kitchenette and a nice bathroom. A QR code replaces the key card. Convenient parking. Good location near the station.
