Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaMy husband found the bed quite hard, which I do agree with, but I slept quite well, whereas he found it uncomfortable. The shower was ok, although a little strange.
The location was great, the size of the accommodation excellent. The bunk beds were perfect for the kids, the main bed was nice and big, and the washing machine and drying room definitely came in handy (especially as it was so hot, being summer).

United StatesThere’s no one at front desk usually, you’ll have to ring the bell and wait. The master comforter cover appears old and brown. No seating at lobby and too early check out time.
This property is an apartment style building, not much building facilities or seating at front lobby. I liked that it’s individual floor apartment with washing machine. The area is walking distance 10-15mins to shops, 5 min walk to Ginza train. Across the street is a 7/11 and another convenient store.

AustraliaClose to the main strip in Akihabara, yet very quiet. Generously sized room with a bunk, an oversized bed and an extra bed. Kitchenette, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, cutlery / plates etc provided. Separate toilet plus a bathroom with washing machine. Shower room doubles as a dry room, which was very practical. There was also a small study in the room. Very clean. Staff super friendly. The hotel also offered luggage storage.

Location was great within 10 mins walk to 4 train/metro stations (with different lines) including Akihabara itself. Apartment was large for Tokyo standards. Daily cleanup is greatly appreciated (which becoming less common in Japan hotels due to labor shortage).

United Statesnothing. This place is just about perfect for a family with children.
Location was excellent. Across the street from a 7-Eleven and a pharmacy and a short walk to the Akihabara area. Our unit was basically a small apartment with everything we needed for a family of 4. Our unit had a small furnished kitchen, small full-sized fridge, microwave, and a small washer. The bathroom had a fan/drying function that dried your laundry and the bathroom itself - absolutely incredible. There was even an extra room which functions as an office. The washer and dryer was extremely helpful - absolute game-changer during a hot, humid summer.

United Arab EmiratesI hope there was an area to hang the laundry because the dryer wasn't enough to dry the clothes. The top bunk bed was so dusty though, so the kids didn't sleep there.
The room is big, spacious and very comfortable.

IndonesiaCleaning up can be improved, om the first day, the bunk bed on the above position was not being cleaned or made. On our last night, we can still feel some sandyness on the bed (fyi we asked for a bed sheet change on our 4th day from our 6 days stay).. Tisue in toilet run out but not being refilled. Kitchen tisue on last day.was very less that not being replaced
Locatin was very convenient. 3 mins walk from suechihiro station. Nearby has a lot of konbini, close to akihabara with a lot of food options. Room was great, very spacious for Tokyo. It perfectly fit for 5 people without the feeling of cramped. Washing machine was very nice that i can wash daily and have clean clothes to bring back home (which usually i always had a pile of ditry clothes from Tokyo trip). Bed were good, big and hardness is perfect.

United StatesThis location was not equipped to handle a feather-free request, but they attempted to remedy the situation as best they could, which ended up being a throw blanket.
This is perfect for a young family with the bunk beds in the room.

AustraliaCheckout is fairly early at 10 am. Late checkouts are possible but at significant additional cost. Being these apartments are more premium quality and cost, a later, 11am check out should be standard. That said their storing our luggage for the afternoon at no charge made up for this.
Modern, spacious and comfortable apartment. Even has a separate room with a built-in desk for use as an office. This was very convenient as we stored all our suitcases in it comfortably, keeping them out of the main living area. Main double bed is huge, possibly larger than a king bed. Kids loved the capsule style bunks. Kitchen includes all necessities and more. Bathroom is spacious. The balcony was nice to have as well. Location is excellent, short walk to main Akihabara shopping streets and train stations, including Ueno market and airport train station Reception staff were very pleasant and kindly allowed us to store our bags after checkout.
