How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room is a bit small for two persons
- Very convenient location - easy to walk to - along an elevated walking path from Gifu JR station. - Breakfast spread is very plentiful - both Japanese and western food choices - Terrific daiyokujo 大浴場 (large communal bath, rotenburo & sauna facilities) - Laundry - washers/dryers available at the daiyokujo

Good location near the train station. Room is small but well designed with everything you need. The jelly they provided is delicious! I used the onsen in the morning and it was empty.

The blanket on our bed seemed a little old, we asked for another blanket which resulted in my partner suffering from a few bites.
Staff were very helpful and spoke enough English to help us navigate Gifu. Ammenities were great, Onsen is traditional so no tattoos. The breakfast was great, as were the massage chairs and ice creams.

Onsen has limited hours (opens late in evening and is open all night?).
Free ramen and icecream in the evening, good breakfast buffet. Great location close to Gifu train station. Could add breakfast upon arrival. Free coffee of quality in lounge. Comfortable room, although small. Fast elevators programmed properly.

that is nothing much then I can comment.
1. the room is nice. they have a small little room before you enter to your bed area. this is I like as you may not hear outside corridor people talking loudly. this is a plus point. 2. after onsen your can enjoy free ice cream. the ice cream is nice. love it. free yakult in the morning. 3. free laundry. dry cleaning need to pay 4. they still have supper 5. they really do it just like you feel like home. 6. i will book again under their name again.

Unfortunately we both are tattooed and could not use the onsen but that shouldn't stop anyone from booking a room here.
Good location, friendly staff and clean and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was delicious! The hotel has an onsen. Washing machines free of charge and the dryers were not expensive.

Location was amazing. Hot bath was good. Awesome free ice cream and ramen. Breakfast was delicious. The only downside is the size of the room and bed.

It should be noted that there is no shower/bath in the room, so if you want to bathe you have to use the onsen facilities. Also, if you have a tattoo there are signs indicating you can not use the onsen. This may make this hotel less desirable for some people.
The onsen facilities are wonderful! The variety and quality of food at breakfast is excellent! Wonderful amenities such as free use of the washing machine, free ice cream bars, probiotic drinks, etc. It’s a very clean, comfortable and customer oriented hotel. I initially found the pillow for my bed uncomfortable. I asked the staff at the front desk if they had a different pillow and they kindly lent me something better for me, which was very helpful!

Conveniently connected to the station via an indoor passage on the second floor, Dormy Inn Gifu offers a perfect location next to an impressive tower with a free observation deck. The hotel features comfortable beds and an exceptional onsen with both indoor and outdoor baths plus a sauna, creating a tranquil atmosphere. Convenience stores are nearby, with a larger supermarket just ten minutes away on foot. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and comfortable, thanks in part to the attentive staff who enhance this excellent accommodation experience.
