Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainIt smelt a lot like humidity inside the room

AustraliaThis Dormy is a bit of an older model than others that we've stayed in so is a bit dated. That said, all of the reasons that we like Dormy Inns applied to this site.
The Dormy Inn chain is our go-to when travelling in Japan. Excellent staff, value for money and good facilities including very nice on-site onsens make these inns very welcoming. The free ice-creams and ramen in the evenings are a real plus. As far as this hotel was concerned, it mostly met our expectations and its access to the train station and metro were very good.

United KingdomThe kitchen sink style arrangement in the room rather than the bathroom I found a bit odd.
Room was fairly comfortable albeit it quite small, good location in a quiet area but just moments from all the bright lights of Akihabara. The best thing about the place was the rooftop onsen and enjoying an open air bath was a great way to relax after a day’s sightseeing.

United KingdomRoom & bed was small. No basin in the bathroom. Instead, there’s a kitchen sink in the corner of the bedroom! Very odd & makes the room feel cheap & basic
Good location, very close to metro station. Good facilities; ie: onsen facilities, free ice cream, free ramen in the evening!

United StatesThe only thing I had a little bit of a question about was, they would not allow us to bring my daughter‘s Japanese teacher up to our room to get her gift that we got for her. She had to wait downstairs. I don’t know if that was a safety issue for Her and they were protecting her from us Americans or if it was because they thought maybe we were gonna keep her up there and she’d be a third guest in the 2 Guest room? But it was OK. We just left her downstairs went up and got her gift and brought it back down but I just thought that was a little bit different but that’s OK. Difference is good.
I liked that they will happily take your bags and you can go explore the city before it’s time to check in and then bring them up to your room! What great service! I think the ambience of the hot water area was very cool. The conditioners and everything for your hair was top notch.

United KingdomMy room (Japanese Style Double) was very cramped, even compared to the other hotels I stayed at in Tokyo during my trip. I had a single suitcase and backpack with me and it took up a significant portion of space in the room. The shower and toilet facilities while also cramped were well stocked and I had no issues with them. The "Japanese Style" as far as i can tell consisted of a Vinyl sticker on the window mirroring the paper windows, and an enlarged and blurry PNG of a Japanese painting on the wall behind the bed.
Incredible location, only a 5 minute walk behind the hotel to reach the Akihabara train station, and the building is surrounded by convenience stores, anime shops, and pachinko parlours among other shops I shall not name ;^) The breakfasts at this hotel are very good, with different soups available at the counter, delicious fried chicken on tap among other foods, and multiple beverage machines for all sorts of drinks. Bear in mind that the seating area is also cramped and compact and can only seat maybe 20-30 people, so get there early!

United StatesThe pillows were so uncomfortably hard we purchased pillows elsewhere to use at all the Dormy Inns we stayed at. I did not like the TV in the outdoor bath area. It ruined the relaxing vibe. I also didn’t like the tinny music box music that played in public areas.
The facility was very clean and at a fantastic location. The staff was great.

RussiaThe hotel is quite old, and our room was a bit worn out. The beds and pillows were not very comfortable. I had to ask for the humidifier that was shown in the photos, as the air is very dry during the winter. I was given an old, partially broken humidifier that lacked maintenance, but it did its job.
The public bath under the night sky is an incredible experience. We hardly used our room shower because of the convenience of the sento. The staff is always available, nice and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. The location is fantastic, with everything we needed within a 5-minute walk. There are also train stations nearby, making it easy to travel to any destination. To top it off, we received a complimentary bowl of ramen every night, which was a delightful treat.
