How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified review- Clean room - Self check in worked well - Comfortable bed - Good location
- Small space and relatively high price - but both are general Tokyo issues

Verified reviewGreat location, no problem with sound. Very clean. Could fit family of five.
Bed was quite hard. Futon maybe better. If neighbours are noisy, you will hear it.

Verified reviewThe building is very nicely located, only a couple of minutes by foot to the most interesting areas in Asakusa
The room is very, very small. We actually understimated, how small it is and the picture are well taken you could say - it doesn't necessarily show HOW SMALL the room is. It is fine for one or two nights for sure but we stayed there for five nights and couldn't wait to move on to our next destination with an average sized hotel room which felt like an entire luxury appartment size wise compared to the room. I would not suggest taking this room for more than two nights. We weren't even able to have our suitcases open at the same time - the space on the floor just wasn't enough.

Verified reviewHad an amazing 1 night stay over at this hotel. The room was relatively small but very cozy and provided all of the basic amenities. Our room that we chose had a queen sized bed, television, hair dryer, mini fridge, mirror as well as a decently sized, wall facing table with a single chair. The room was actually quite spacious and had a relatively big open space for you to walk around the room and open your luggage. Hence, we had no problems keeping our luggage open the whole time even though our luggage were larger in size. The bed was comfortable and we had a good night rest over at the place. Our room also had a private bathroom of a decent size, with a shower and bath tub. The toilet was very clean in general, toiletries and necessities for showering such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, bath towels, face towels and room slippers were also provided. Location of the place was amazing. It was located across the bridge from Asakusa Station, around a 5 to 10 minute walk. What was the standout thing about the place for me was that it was away from the hustle and bustle of Asakusa but it was still very convenient to explore Asakusa, Sensoji temple and Nakamise Dori Street. Asakusa was around a 10 to 15 minute walk from the place which made visiting Sensoji temple at night very convenient which I highly recommend anyone to do because the place is absolutely stunning at night. Aside from that, there were a couple of convenience stores located nearby within the vicinity of the place. It is also possible to travel to Tokyo Skytree via foot, which we did and took around 20 minutes to get there, perfect for going to the Pokemon Centre or going to the different character stores located there! The staff there were also really accommodating and nice, allowing us to check-in into our room before the check-in time as our room was ready. Overall, the room was very cozy, in a prime location within Tokyo. This was definitely one of the nicer rooms we stayed in, highly recommend

It would be so much better to include dryer. I had to search and use local laundry mat to dry clothes.

Verified reviewWe liked the location and the room was very clean. Good communication with the host via WhatsApp. The bed was comfortable and the room on the 2nd floor (202) was quiet yet a bit dark due to a wall outside the window. Good AC, shower and wifi.
The pillows were uncomfortable and stained.

Verified reviewWell located
No option of keeping the luggagge before check-in, as there is no room for it or anybody attending. It was a bit old, very small room, smelling really bad even with the windows open for the whole day. No room service or towel replacement (“the environment”, you know). The walls were dirty and the bed was unconfortable. By far the worst hotel or our trip to Japan, for the same prize you can find others better in the same area.
Thank you for your feedback, actually you can message us here for room cleaning or change towels as we write the notification on the door. And even we are none 24hours staff hotel, we can provide luggage keeping service if you contact us in advance. A good communication can fix many problems.

Verified reviewGood location, has a nice rooftop.
The room had a weird smell, there was pee droplets on the floor and weird gross things in the wall. The bed was uncomfortable you could feel the springs. The comforter had a cover on it but you could see that the comforter its self was yellowed and gross. When we were getting ready to leave (check out us at 10) the room cleaner knocked on the door, we responded but they continued to open up the door despite us clearly still in the room. Also they don’t offer to hold your luggage, and no front desk.

The bathroom ventilation. The water vapor would escape from the bathroom and the room would smell a little bit wet
