We loved the location. Ted and his staff were amazing with all their help and everything to know regarding the area. Ted really was so helpful. The kayaks on the lake were great too. It’s was a good stop off long in our journey through Japan.

It was a very old building (as many in Japan are). The beds were not very comfortable.

Beautiful location on the lake, with plenty of summer activities (kayaking, SUP, swimming), walking distance from several restaurants. Friendly staff (Ted, the owner, and Shota will treat you like family and speak both English and Japanese). We ordered a BBQ one night, and it was an incredible assortment of local produce and meats and breakfast was also nice. Room and facilities were clean. They had all the amenities we needed for our stay - free tea and coffee, mini fridge, hair dryer.

Ted and his staff were very helpful. Really helped us out with ideas for sightseeing and restaurants. We stayed during late May, the hotel and lake were very quiet and peaceful.

Awesome views of lake Nojiri and surrounding mountains, staff were very kind and the rooms were clean with very comfortable beds, also loved the sound of the lake at night.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! Everything exceeded my expectations — the room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The location was perfect, with a beautiful lake view. I also really enjoyed the breakfast — it was delicious and of great quality. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Great location for the Myoko snow resorts. Beautiful outlook. Fantastic staff. Flawless stay. The access to a microwave, toaster and kettle was a life saver as there isn’t many local dinner options. 7/11 dinners did the job! Breakfast daily was great. Honestly couldn’t fault our stay. Thanks for having us Ted & team!

Second bed/folding couch was not suitable to sleep on.

I had a couple of shocks - the advertised “free transfers” are ONLY to/from the train station of their choosing, Kurohime, and be aware, the advertised “hot tub” apparently is the (small) bathtub in your room’s bathroom.

The location is absolutely beautiful and the staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating.

It was advertised that there was a cafe onsite, which had not been operational for some time. Some parts of the property were a little tired and could do with a refresh.

It was great intimate location with only a few families staying at the time. A couple of communal area options to chat, share a drink or a game. Ted and team were all willing to help with ideas and share local stories. Always amazing to wake up next to the water!

Nothing A car is helpful in the off season

From the moment a guest walks in, the host, Ted, makes them feel at home. Beds are comfortable, lake views are lovely, breakfast is delicious, and the playlists to accompany morning coffee are great!

We happened to stay there when most of the restaurants in town were closed.

Peaceful location with a spacious room and comfortable bed - finally a bed that fit my 6 foot 2 inch husband. Gorgeous lake view from our balcony and plenty of hiking opportunities. Quick train ride to Nagano for any attractions and then back to peace and quiet on the lake. Ted was an amazing host. So down to earth and inviting, and always willing to help with any plans. Plus he makes a great breakfast. Exceeded our expectations!! Could spend weeks here. Would love to go back!

In the off seasons between Summer and winter arriving by train limited dinner options as many of the restaurants were closed. The owner offered to drive us to a restaurant but after two weeks eating out, staying at the resort was a nice change.

The breakfast was excellent. The owner and staff were helpful and would discuss what was happening with the guests. There was packaged food and drinks that you could buy and make yourself in the building if you did not want to go out to dinner. The views were great across the lake. The breakfast area was also available along with a lounge with lake views.
