Germany"At least my" room was located on the train station side, and while I was at a high floor and windows were closed, I still could hear the trains coming back and forth the whole day!
The staff was really great and helpful. The "single-bed" room was great. The hotel is basically at the Mito train station, and very close to the bus station, which gives you access to everywhere very easily. There is a large shopping mall at the other side of the train station (5 minutes walk from the hotel). The breakfast was good, not very much varieties, but enough to get your day started.

United StatesThe facilities were on the older side and could use refreshing but everything worked just fine. The izakaya is "charmingly rustic"? It's hard to describe without going.
A nice quiet stay even though I was there on Halloween. I could hear slight hooting from down below but it was slight and only when I was at the window. My view was of the city towards the lake which is always a nice bonus. The hotel is in the buildings attached to the station so it's extremely convenient. Breakfast was a Japanese buffet in a izakaya that is repurposed for breakfast. Plenty of food and quite tasty.

CanadaThe double bed was against the wall leaving only one side for entry in and out of the bed. Very difficult for two elderly people with mobility issues. The room was very small poorly laid out and not suitable in size for a double bed. We were eventually moved to a different room but it took over an hour to sort things out.
