How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The breakfast was one of the best during our three-week vacation - absolute praise for a buffet with a huge selection and no limit on how much you can eat. The location would be good - not absolutely central, but still well located.

The air conditioner was directed to the bed and make you feel cold but if you stop it, room temperature gets too warm

There is nothing that we don't like. Everything was good as we expected.
It is within walking distance to Dotonbori district and several metro stations. It is so easy to navigate from this hotel. The service and staff are great. The room is small but it is a standard in Japan. 7/11 is one step away from the hotel.

Aircondition is centrally managed, so only heating was available when I visited. Room did get a little stuffy without the aircon on.
Clean and well-maintained. Staff was very polite and helpful. Close to the area around kyomachibori which has a lot of nice bars/restaurants and fewer tourists.

7-11 downstairs: really convenient; within 5 mins walk from 2 different subway stations; comprehensive pharmacy nearby, better than downtown stores; facility in room is sufficient; clean room; friendly staff; housekeeping daily.

Location perhaps but this reflects on price I think.
Room very comfortable, bathroom small but functional. Had a lift to 9th floor I was on. Staff always smiled and helpful. Spoke broken English but ok to find out what you needed to. Seven 11 next door.

Location is not great, minimal restaurants around the area but there is a convenience store next door. Took 35 minutes to walk into Dotonbori, and a metro station is 10 minutes walking distance. The windows are single glazed and do not shut properly which meant it was extremely loud and a strong draft was entering. Airport is 1 hour and 30 minutes away, we accessed it by metro and train which is a bit of hassle but airport is out of the city.
Good stay at city route. Room was very small, but expected in Asia. Good level of cleanliness and staff were pleasant. We opted out of maid service, however clean towels were given every day. Good hotel for a few days of exploring Osaka, you get what you pay for.

Staff spoke no English (but I should have tried Japanese); no view from window, but not a problem.
Cityroute was comfortable, clean and served us well. It was close enough to the metro and some good places to visit. There were some great cafes, restaurants and bars in easy walking.

Not much soundproofing, loud people talking in the hallway can wake you up.
Very clean, easy to reach, plenty of food places nearby and not far from popular attractions!

It is somewhat on the compact side, so there was not much space, but still more than enough for me to do a bit of work on my laptop and open my luggage on the floor.
For a budget hotel I like everything in it in general, including the fact that convenience store is literally just beside the hotel. The room has everything I need and there were washer and dryer too. The staff is used to English-speaking guests and that is very useful for foreign guests.

Being gluten free nit much choice for breakfast.
A great location for access to all the things you would want to do in Osaka. Staff very helpful with all needs.

A small walk from the station, about 15 minutes.
Very nice hotel for a cheap price. Rooms are comfortable and clean with everything I need.
