Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanShowers are in a separate building and there is no conditionner, but these are minor inconveniences.
Convenient location, very quiet, clean room, kitchen and shower rooms, owner friendly and easy to communicate, English speaking, and free parking.

CanadaIt is an amazing place! The host is very nice and helpful. It is a really quiet place, with only a few houses in the village. I was alone and without a car and it was really easy for me to go to the beach, walk and go by bus to Amino. The beach is amazing, very large.

United StatesThe shower is outside at the same building as the kitchen. My wife didn’t care for walking outside to bath and then walk back to our room.
I think every room option is quite different. Our’s had two large rooms upstairs. The bath was shared with one other room at the bottom of the stairs. The shared kitchen is simply fabulous, and was our favorite place to hang out. It’s a large building with modern appliances and dining table. The sliding back doors open onto a terrace with views to the Harbour. Free parking right there. Very very nice beach close by for summer visitors.

GermanyNowhere else in this hospitable country did we feel as comfortable as in the great Asobi lodge. The two wonderful owners have equipped their holiday appartment so comfortably and with all the amenties that all stress fall away and you can immerse yourself in the beautiful surroundings. The location is exceptional, a little hidden, very atmospheric in a former kimona factory. We loved the perfectly equipped kitchen, which, in addition to a wodden terrace, offers a wonderful view of the small fishing bay. Esprcially if you come from the bustling metropolis of Tokyo or Kyoto, you will find the ideal place here that you don't have to share with anyone because you can use everything exclusively.

GermanyLocated in a small village, with view down to the ocean from the room and the kitchen area. 15 minutes coastal walk to the beach - Kotohikihama Beach. Said all this, it means: breathtaking ...!! A double tatami room with a lot of space is located upstairs. Downstairs you find a sink and toilet. Outside across the yard there are more toilets and showers and the kitchen, not shared. The kitchen has a lot of space and equipment for cooking - if you want. No restaurants and shops close-by. My favorite place was the small balcony outside in front of the kitchen. Here you get the breeze, the view and the stars at night. Would have loved to stay a few nights more... Very kind and helpful owners!

United KingdomNothing; it was all great!
Hamish is super-friendly and very helpful with information about sightseeing, eating out etc. The apartment was sensitively restored with traditional materials and furniture, but also had all modern conveniences. Kyotango is a wonderfully peaceful and pretty corner of Japan where you can chill out at one of the many beaches, or enjoy the fantastic coastal scenery.

JapanThe lodge is situated right next to a forested area, so it’s practically inevitable that you will have a few bug encounters. We had no problems with it, but it’s something to be aware of if you are particularly insect-averse. (The same could be said of any similar lodging in any similar area of Japan). Not a complaint, but just a note - If you’re going to have a BBQ, you may want to buy your own “ami” (metal mesh that goes on top) from the nearby home & garden store, as the ones available were usable but a bit old. That said, it was great to have a bbq grill available at all, since it typically costs money at other lodging, and bringing your own takes up precious car trunk space. Don’t forget to get some cotton gloves (“gunte”) when you buy charcoal, as it will make grilling much easier.
The perfect quiet location to de-stress. The building was originally a kimono factory and has been very tastefully renovated. Very clean, and very comfortable. Peaceful walks along the shoreline are a great way to start each morning. We loved the large, well-equipped kitchen/dining area which naturally became our central hang-out area. We had a blast cooking for every single meal (even though we had originally intended to eat out some). The owner is extremely helpful and friendly, and we greatly enjoyed having chats with him about the lodge, the area, and life in general. Petting the very gentle-tempered goats was also a therapeutic “zen” experience. We had planned to drive around the Tango peninsula using Asobi Lodge as a base, but the local area was so peaceful we ended up just hanging around and enjoying the vibe. Going to the nearby beach and checking out sea critters in the rock pools was great fun, and easily takes up more time than you would expect. I’m looking forward to a chance to go back.

JapanAmazing location and a wonderful modern take on a traditional Japanese residence. Clean, comfortable beds, and plenty of space to eat and relax in the living areas. The 10-minute walk to the singing sands of the local beach was fantastic and there were so few people, it felt like our own private beach! Nora was kind, helpful and on site to answer any questions we had! Thank you for a great stay!
